Rate Group

Like Rate Components, Rates themselves can be grouped. Except instead of fees, Rate Groups collect all the varieties of rates, such as overtime or differing units of measure, for a specific position for a specific site.

But rate groups are not associated to suppliers or sites, so rate groups serve as collection objects that are in turn associated to rate grids. This allows the rate grid to show more than just a single rate for a position fulfilled by a supplier at a particular site.

The use of rate groups means that the rate grid contains all rate variances for a position across multiple sites and suppliers.

Navigating the Rate Group Admin Object

Select the Rate Group admin object from the Rate Structure section of the admin menu to view the list of rate groups that WorkingNet uses.

Create a Rate Group

WorkingNet is creating a new Customer Support position for their London Office. It will need a new rate structure in SAP Fieldglass in order to accommodate the regional characteristics of a UK-based workforce.

As the SAP Fieldglass administrator for WorkingNet, you’re tasked with creating that rate structure.

This new position requires 24/7 coverage, so you’ve created 2 new rate categories—one for the night shift and one for the day shift—to accommodate premiums paid for those shifts.

You’ve also created the rates based on those rate categories for all of WorkingNet’s relevant supplier and site combination.

Now, because you have multiple rates for the customer support position, you must add them to a rate group in order for them to be appropriately categorized for placement into a rate grid.
