Admin Objects

An Admin Object is the underlying data that allows a transaction to be performed; essentially, the information that indicates who is performing what transaction and how.

Play the video to learn how Admin Objects are used to support the structure of an organization's SAP Fieldglass tenant.

The Admin Menu

All of that administrative data is managed through what’s called the Admin Menu, short for Administrative Menu.

The Admin Menu presents the tools that are used to create and maintain the structures that allow transactions to occur: an organization’s administrative information, rules, and processes. It facilitates solutions for an organization’s workforce goals and objectives by defining the data objects that affect visibility, user access, and transactional workflows.

Some of the admin objects listed here demonstrably affect transactions, requiring users to make certain choices that are configured through the admin object. Others effectively remove choice and affect a transaction strictly through the associations made to other admin objects.

What the Admin Menu does not do is allow users to edit the foundational definition of the company configuration itself. But for all intents and purposes, the Admin Menu is the brain of SAP Fieldglass.
