Process of the Validation Phase

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Link to all simulations used in this unit
  • Give an overview of the processes of the Validation Phase
  • Explain a product development process with Product Structure Management

Summary of all Simulations

You will find for your reference a list of all simulations, which show you how to execute the described functions in SAP S/4HANA R&D Engineering. A prerequisite accessing the simulations is running this course in e-;earning mode. With the use of simulations you will be able to experience and explore some of the supported business processes. The simulations allow the look and feel of the system behavior without the need of a personal SAP S/4HANA system or additional access to other trial, demo, or learning systems.

Therefore, please be advised, that the label Exercise used across all embedded simulations is not meant to experience the full content of the several end-to-end exercises offered to you via SAP Learning System Access, but is used because the simulation is provided to you in Practice mode, meaning it provides you a kind of hands-on exercise learning experience while working with the e-learning content only.

Note
It is not intended that you navigate again through all simulations at this point of the training. The individual simulations are referenced again in those parts of the training where they fit best. This is only a reference in case you want to go back to any simulation and you are looking for a central point of entry.

Process Overview: Validation Phase

Standard Validation Phase

With successful validation of the engineering design, the responsibility moves from the engineering department to the manufacturing department for production preparation.

Product Development with Product Structure Management

This section explains an optional product development process for a configurable product.

Materials and material BOMs are not available at this early stage of product development.
