In addition to adding meta-data comments to a widget, you can also comment on a specific data point in a table (and in a comment widget). A comment on a data point is similar to commenting on a single cell in Microsoft Excel. In order to add data point comments, you first must enable the Allow Data Point Comments option in the Properties section of the builder panel for the table.

Once the table allows data point comments, you can add one as follows:
- Select the data cell to which you want to add a comment.
- Right-click and then select Add Data Point Comment.
- Enter your comment in the displayed dialog and select Add Comment to submit the comment. The comment is posted as part of a thread, and a colored wedge shape is displayed at the top right of the cell.

Comments in tables can either be in cells with the data or in separate columns. To add a column for comments, right click on a column header → Add calculation → Comment → Repeating. As a result, existing comments will be displayed in the column and users can double clock cells to add additional comments.

Comment widgets are used to display existing data point comments for a data region or add new comments. All comments for a specific data region are listed.
