SAP Analytics Cloud Add-In for MS Office (MS Office 365)

SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office enables you to use Microsoft Excel’s strengths to get deeper insights into your SAP Analytics Cloud data. Integrated with Microsoft Office 365, the add-in lets you format, analyze, and enrich your data based on the latest content from the SAP Analytics Cloud platform. You can also analyze SAP Analytics Cloud analytic models based on import data connections. You can insert one or several models in a workbook. Then you can add or remove dimensions and measures to analyze your data. You can also add totals in rows and columns to your table. In your analysis, you can use dimensions with hierarchies applied. You can expand and collapse the hierarchy nodes within the table.

Currently, SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office provides access only to import models.

The planning features

The figure Planning Features shows some of the planning features available in SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office.

Similar to the planning features in SAP Analytics Cloud stories, with the SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office, you can:

  • Write-back
  • Revert
  • Publish
  • View changed cells with automatic highlighting
  • Add filters, subtotals, navigation attributes, properties

There are also several functions provided with the product that can be used for filtering, reading meta data, and creating cell-based reports. For example, SAP.GETDATA returns the data value for a specified set of dimension and member combinations.

The desktop version

The desktop version of the add-In is supported and can provide more flexibility than the online version. In fact, it is the primary option for Microsoft Excel integration.

Note

For Microsoft Excel desktop, the add-in requires one of the following versions connected to a valid Microsoft 365 subscription:

  • version 16.30 or higher on Excel for Mac

  • version 2005 or higher on Excel Current Channel for Windows

  • version 2004 or higher on Excel Monthly Enterprise Channel for Windows

  • version 2002 or higher on Excel Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel for Windows
