Stock - Single Material

Description

With this app you can get an overview of your material stock. You can review your stock by the plants and storage locations for which you are responsible. The app can display the stock information as a table or a diagram. This app supports you, for example, as an inventory manager in your daily work.

Key Features

  • Display a stock overview of a single material.
  • Compare the stock information with the safety stock and minimum safety stock values defined for the material.
  • Display the stock history for each plant or storage location for the last 11 fiscal year period-end closings.
  • Presentation of a first-level drill down to stock history (day-end closing) as a time series.
  • Presentation of a second-level drill down to material document item postings for each day showing the key figures of each posting.
  • Personalization of stock types and display of the safety stock.
  • You can send a link to the stock overview of the selected material via email.
  • You can use SAP Jam to share your comments on the selected material.
  • This app includes SAP CoPilot. This digital assistant in the SAP S/4HANA system supports you with features like business context awareness or quick actions to manage follow-on activities directly from the app.

How to Review Stock

  1. Select a material.

    • The app displays your stock of the material by plant and by storage location as a table. It displays the stock history of the last 11 periods and the current stock in a curve diagram.
    • The app uses today’s date as the reporting date. You can change the reporting date. If you leave the Reporting Date field empty, the system displays the stock of material for the current period (end of period).
    Note
The Stock History column or some stock types might be hidden. In the personalization area, you can specify the columns that you want the system to display in the results list. You access the stock history of all visible stock in the table by clicking on the micro chart.
    Note
The value help for the Unit of Measure supports you in selecting all available units of measure of a material that you want to display more easily. The system groups the available units of measure according to the standard units and derived units, in other words, units of the same dimension as the standard units.
  2. Choose the graphical view to display your stock by plant and by storage location in a bar diagram.

The app displays the corresponding safety stock and minimum safety stock values. The safety stock is the quantity of stock whose purpose is to satisfy unexpectedly high demand in the coverage period. The risk of shortfalls is reduced by having a safety stock. The minimum safety stock defines the lower limit for the safety stock. The safety stock cannot fall below the minimum safety stock.

    Note
You can only get access to the safety stock in the stock history.
  3. Choose a plant, then choose one of the following apps to perform further tasks:
    • Manage Stock
    • Transfer Stock - In-Plant
    • Transfer Stock - Cross-Plant
    • Material Documents Overview
    • Stock - Multiple Materials

Transfer Stock – In-Plant

Description

With this app, you can make transfer postings within a plant. This app supports you, for example, as a warehouse clerk or inventory manager in your daily work.

Key Features

  • Transfer stock within a storage location.
  • Transfer stock from an issuing storage location to the stock of a receiving storage location.
  • Transfer special stock types, such as vendor consignment stock, project stock, or sales order stock, for example, from storage location to storage location or into the unrestricted-use stock.
  • Transfer stock from one stock type to another stock type.
  • Check the range of coverage based on the consumption of unrestricted-use stock materials in the last 30 days.
  • The app supports you in finding the allowed transfer postings.
  • This app supports special stock types like E (orders on hand), Q (project stock), and K (vendor consignment).
  • Special transfer postings between the same special stock indicators are also possible: from E to E or from Q to Q.
    Note
The app supports several movement types for different business processes. The app offers you authorization-dependent movement types. You have different authorizations depending on your business role. If movement types are missing for your task or you have restricted authorizations for a movement type, contact your administrator.
  • This app includes SAP CoPilot. This digital assistant in the SAP S/4HANA system supports you with features like business context awareness or quick actions to manage follow-on activities directly from the app.
  • This app supports specific authorization checks for transfer postings at the goods receipt. The app forbids unsupported transfer postings for materials that are part of quality management (QM) processes: material that is assigned to an inspection lot. Note, because of different authorization requirements you need different roles to complete the posting process.
  • For further goods movement (activities) with such materials you need the relevant authorization for the Quality Technician role. With this QM role, you can carry out further transfer postings for the materials in the stock in quality inspection. Therefore, you can navigate directly to the Manage Inspection Lots app.

How to Make Transfer Postings

  1. Select the material you want to transfer.
  2. Choose the issuing stock and then choose the receiving stock. You can change the direction of the transfer at a later stage..
    Note
The value help supports you in posting stock more easily to all available storage locations of a plant. The value help for the storage location contains all the available storage locations if the following prerequisites are fulfilled: 1) The provided storage locations are already defined for the selected material in the material master, and 2) plants and the related movement types are configured for automatic creation of a storage location.
  3. Enter the document date and the posting date.
  4. Enter the quantity you want to transfer from the issuing stock to the receiving stock.
  5. Post the transfer and check the material document displayed as confirmation.

If you notice that you have made an error in posting stock changes, correct the error by reversing the material document and posting the stock changes again. To reverse the material document, use the Material Documents Overview app. To perform further tasks, choose a material, and then choose one of the following apps:

  • Stock - Single Material
  • Material Documents Overview
