Predictive Models

A Predictive Scenario
manages the life cycle of the predictive models included within them. They describe a predictive use case by defining a business goal, the type of prediction to make, for example, regression or classification, and the data to use for the prediction. Predictive Scenarios are preconfigured and shipped with SAP S/4HANA. You can also build your own model then publish it as a new predictive scenario into S/4HANA.
A Predictive Model
is a model used for predicting outcomes from a given data set. Before it can be used for predicting outcomes it must be trained and then regularly retrained using the most recent data.
You can train, and retrain, your model to ensure predictions created are based on the most recent data
You can review training status and quality
You can delete any inactive model version(s)
The Predictive Models app allows you to validate and train predictive models for your specific predictive scenario.
To enable customers to predict the project cost, SAP S/4HANA is shipped with a preconfigured Project Cost Forecast Prediction Scenario (PPM_PROJCOSTFRCAST01). As each predictive model is customer specific, the model must first be trained on the customer's historical data before it can produce predictive scores.
You have the option of using existing projects when you want to make predictions, or you can create new ones. The required minimum number of projects depends on your business case. As a general rule, it takes dozens of projects before you can be sure that a training model works technically.
The Modeling Context
defines the actual instances of the predictive models. It defines a mechanism for making predictions from an appropriate Model to which the data is being applied. A Modeling Context can be thought of as a context-specific view of a Predictive Scenario. In the Predictive Models app, for every predictive scenario generated, a default modeling context is created which is called DEFAULT. You cannot change this default modeling context. One modeling context can contain several model versions, but only one version can be active at a time. The active version is the one that is used to make predictions.
Project Financial Controller Overview (F3078)

The Project Financial Controller Overview app shows in a single page the most important information and tasks related to the financial aspects of projects that are relevant for you right now. The information is displayed on set of cards. This allows you to focus on the most important tasks, and view, filter, and react to information quickly.
The cards show you the most important information ranked according to relevance. For example, on thePlanned Projects card, you can see a list of planned projects that have been created but not yet released, and are sorted based on their start date.
Key Features
You can customize the overview page by rearranging cards and by hiding or showing them. You can drag and drop cards to rearrange them.
To hide a card, proceed as follows:
In the header bar, select the User icon and select Manage Cards. Use the switch control to hide or show the relevant card. Select OK.
- To reset the view to the default settings, select Restore in the Manage Cards window.
You can also apply a filter to the displayed information, which will affect all relevant cards. For example, you can filter the content of all cards per project or planning category.
A standard filter variant that can be used immediately. It contains some predefined values for the filter bar. You can make your own variant by selecting the Select Variant drop-down arrow. You can also customize the filter by selecting Adapt Filter.
