The Intelligent, Sustainable Enterprise
An intelligent, sustainable enterprise is one that consistently applies advanced technologies and best practices within agile, integrated business processes. SAP supports our customers in becoming intelligent enterprises by providing solutions for integrating data and processes, building flexible value chains, innovating with industry best practices, understanding and acting on customer, partner, and employee sentiment, and managing environmental impact.
Make Sustainability Core to Your Business
SAP has embedded sustainability insights into our end-to-end business processes to make it possible for customers to make sustainability core to their business.

With a holistic view into data, processes, and industry-specific drivers, differentiators, regulations, and best practices across value chains, customers can create new sustainable products, services, and solutions.
With real-time insights across the entire solution to assess and reduce carbon footprints, address circular business models, reduce waste, and ensure social responsibility across value chains, customers can embed sustainability into their core business processes.
With deep transparency into financial and non-financial data to address regulations, taxation, and sanctions proactively, customers can ensure compliance with global and local regulations.
Intelligent Enterprise Suite Qualities
SAP has defined several Intelligent Enterprise Suite Qualities that contribute to a simplified experience and deliver immediate value to our customers. The suite qualities are implemented across end-to-end business processes delivered by the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to unify user experience, security, workflow inboxes, data semantics, analytics, lifecycle management, and process architectures.

Seamless User Experience
A common look for all SAP solutions across the Intelligent Enterprise improves the daily work experience of end users. The look & feel of our solutions is based on the SAP Fiori design guidelines, which emphasize removing unnecessary complexity and building lightweight apps tailored to role-based tasks.
Consistent Security & Identity Management
SAP Cloud Identity reduces manual administration efforts for user management and identity provisioning, and enables a seamless login process with SSO.
End-to-End Process Blueprints
Customers can reduce planning effort for implementation projects and architecture decisions by leveraging our process blueprints that follow the industry reference architecture standard.
Aligned Domain Models
SAP has working toward harmonizing data models with common semantics across the Intelligent Suite to reduce replication and synchronization efforts for key master data objects (e.g. customers, orders). With aligned domain models, customers can move away from integrating applications directly to each other and instead use the SAP Master Data Integration Service as a central repository of all master data objects. This radically simplifies the integration landscape, because each solution only needs to be connected to the central repository of master data to consume data from any other application.
Embedded Intelligence & Analytics
SAP Analytics Cloud enables customers to make quick and confident decisions with comprehensive analytical insights, embedded machine learning in SAP applications, and secure live access to their business data.
Coordinated Lifecycle Management
SAP Cloud ALM and SAP for Me accelerate implementation projects and reduce manual integration configuration effort with harmonized provisioning, setup and operations, and solution monitoring.
One Inbox & Workflow Management
Employees can complete business tasks proactively with the unified view of pending tasks from across SAP solutions in both mobile and desktop environments.
The Experience Economy
In the marketplace, we see the most successful companies understand how to consistently deliver exceptional experiences to their customers. Today, we are in an Experience Economy, where the key to competitive differentiation lies in the experiences you deliver. By combining experience (X-data) and operation (O-data) data, we can gain specific business insights into what customers want.

Experience Data
Experience data is how people feel about your products, services, and brand. The SAP Qualtrics Experience Management platform can help you anticipate needs, predict actions, and identify ways to improve customer, employee, product, and brand experiences.
Operation Data
Operation data comes from your business applications. SAP's integration-ready intelligent suite of applications supports embedding automation and intelligence into every process, from customer-facing activities to HR, finance, manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement.
Intelligence
Accelerate digital transformation with the SAP Business Technology Platform. Harness intelligent technologies like AI, machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), and advanced analytics, and build new applications that seamlessly integrate with your landscape.
Intelligent Enterprises elevate employees to focus on higher-value tasks
Automation is incredibly important for customers, and it's a key driver of SAP's Intelligent Enterprise vision. It's not just about efficiency, but about what you can do with the freed-up effort. The most effective organizations are able to focus on higher value activities with their freed-up time, which translates to faster processes, serving customers better, and using human power for creative and transformative activities, instead of manual, repetitive tasks.

Intelligent Technologies drive process innovation
SAP's intelligent technologies include solutions and services for artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, robotic process automation (RPA), and the Internet of Things (IoT) to support customers in building an intelligent enterprise.

The ability to think and learn in humans is called natural intelligence, therefore in machines, we call it artificial intelligence. Machine learning is a subset of AI focused on teaching computers to learn from data and to improve with experience, instead of being explicitly programmed to do so. In machine learning, algorithms are trained to find patterns and correlations in large data sets, and to make the best decisions and predictions based on these analyses. Machine learning applications improve with use and become more accurate the more data they have access to.
If we combine natural language processing services with AI, we have SAP Conversational AI, which enables users to build and monitor intelligent chatbots to automate tasks and workflows. Customers can deliver personalized conversations at scale anytime, anywhere, and on any device using our proprietary multilingual natural language processing (NLP) technology and automate time-consuming tasks from business processes so employees can focus on value-added tasks.
Robotic process automation can also be used to automate repetitive, time consuming tasks with virtual software robots, also known as bots. RPA technology can handle manual and repetitive tasks where there are interactions with data from multiple sources, high-volume tasks where processes steps must be completed repeatedly such as data migrations and approval workflows, and multiple system tasks where bots must access different applications like Web apps, third-party solutions, and other software.
The Internet of Things is the concept of collecting data from all "things" connected to the internet, from devices, sensors, and machines, to stakeholders throughout the supply chain, partners, and customers. Customers can use IoT data to enhance business process, improve quality, productivity, and resource efficiency by applying intelligent technologies.
