SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit
The SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit is included in the licenses for all SAP S/4HANA deployment options and is accessed with the Migrate Your Data Fiori app on the launchpad.
In a new implementation, the Migration Cockpit is the tool used to migrate all data from legacy system(s) to the target SAP S/4HANA system. In a system conversion, data in the customer's existing SAP ERP system is migrated during the technical conversion, however there may be data in other legacy system(s) that needs to be migrated to the target SAP S/4HANA system. The Migration Cockpit is relevant in this scenario too.

Using Multiple Migration Approaches
More than one approach may need to be used to ensure all data from a customer's legacy systems are successfully migrated. For example, in a new implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition, you may choose to directly connect to the customer's existing SAP ERP source system to transfer the majority of the data.
You may then choose to use the staging database method (staging table approach) to transfer data for specific migration objects from another source system (not the SAP ERP system).
Last, you may need to create a new custom migration object with the Migration Object Modeler and use the template method (staging table approach) to transfer data for a particular use case.
A limited number of migration objects are supported for the migration object modeler in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition. They are documented in SAP Note 2999428
Creating a new custom migration object with the modeler is only supported for private cloud.
