Major and new content in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Warehouse Management
With the development of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Warehouse Management, several major improvements were made in the core solution over time to enable more flexible, configurable business processes.

Additions to mobile RF transaction "Receive by Delivery/ ASN"
In the mobile RF transaction Receive by Delivery / ASN there are new options available. It is now possible to trigger automatic packing of single handling units according to packing instructions. It is possible to create nested HUs as well as mixed HUs.

This feature reduces the manual user input by automatic packing.
Create handling unti warehouse tasks after usage decision
Up to now it was only possible to create product warehouse tasks after a usage decision has been mad for an inspection lot. Now it is also possible to create handling unit (HU) warehouse tasks.

It is possible to move the whole handling unit at once, but also mixed HUs can be used.
The system behavior (product or HU warehouse tasks) can be configured.
Rough Bin Determination
It is now possible to simulate the stock removal strategy to determine the planned picking bin early in the business process.

The determination result can then be used for order-driven replenishment or the assignment to waves.
Wave Management
Up to now it was not possible to automatically or manually create work packages for outbound activities.
WIth the introduction of wave management it is now possible to combine multiple warehouse request items and assign them to a wave. Alternatively a single item may be split to several waves.
Upon wave release, warehouse tasks and warehouse orders are created for all warehouse request items.

This feature optimizes the picking process and allows the time management and workload optimization in the warehouse.
For example, all outbound delivery items that have to be loaded on the same truck or that have the same goods issue time can now be combined into one wave. Capacity restrictions in the capacity profile ensure that the work packages are not getting too big.
It is possible to define different wave templates for different scenarios such as export or domestic shipment with different time settings such as the cut off time.
Wave creation can be done manually or scheduled auotmatically in the background.
For wave maintenance, a new node "Wave" is now available in the warehouse monitor.
Automatic Packing
With the release of SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2208 Warehouse Management it is now possible to use packing proposals and automatic packing in inbound and in outbound processes. This makes it easier for the warehouse operative to pack products and HUs.

The possibility to have packing proposals available from the system and to trigger automatic packing is available in the app to change inbound deliveries as well as in the app to change outbound deliveries.

Automatic Packing in Outbound Work Center
In the workcenter layout, it is now possible to activate automatic packing.

Automatic packing is based on packing instructions that have to be defined beforehand. The determination of the packing instructions is based on the delivery criteria.
By being able to pack automatically the whole outbound process can be optimized as now manual entry is required anymore. Also, the system can make proposals for the user that can be taken over or adapted.
Direct Replenishment
It is now possible by the picker to trigger the replenishment process directly in the RF environment. The reason might by that stock is depleting fast on a fixed bin, but no planned replenishment is taking place.

Direct Replenishment can be triggered by an exception code that is entered during picking in the RF environment.
In picker-driven replenishment the replenishment task is directly displayed to the picker, otherwise the task is available for other resources.
Change of LE deliveries
It is now possible to change deliveries from Logistics Execution (LE) after they have been transferred to the warehouse management system. Even after distribution to EWM you can make changes to specific fields such as:
- Quantity
- Header text
- Planned goods issue date
- Incoterms (and Incoterm location)
- Shipping type and shipping condition
- Bill of Lading
Changes are dependent on the delivery processing status.
New Fiori App "Load or Unload Freight Orders" for Warehouse Clerk
With a new app that supports loading and unloading you can now process freight orders from transportation management more efficiently.

The app supports the following actions:
- Door Assignment
- Dock to door
- Loading
- Departure from door
- Set loading finished
- Navigate to different documents (e. g. delivery)
- Post goods issue
- Cancel goods issue
Advanced Production Integration
You are now able to use the Advanced Production Integration in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Warehouse Management; this feature had only be available in the SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Extended Warehouse Management solution in previous releases.

Advanced production integration allows you to integrate the supply of products to production and the receipt of products from production into your warehouse in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM). It is integrated with the manufacturing order processing in SAP ERP, but it allows you to stage and consume the materials and receive the semi-finished products or finished products in SAP EWM. This means that you can process the warehouse execution for manufacturing orders that have been sent to SAP EWM from SAP ERP even if SAP ERP is not available.
Advanced production integration allows you to plan the staging of products for production over a period of time, allowing you to use the space on your production supply area (PSA) more flexibly. You can receive packed products as soon as they arrive from the production line using radio frequency. This allows you to synchronize the material flows between the warehouse and production promptly, which improves inventory visibility in SAP EWM and in SAP ERP.
Advanced Production Integration supports the following features:
- Work directly on PMR (Production Material Request)
- Cross order and single order staging
- Consumption posting and reversal
- Clear PSA (Production Supply Area)
- Automate staging with a background report
- Consumption possible via RF and desktop
Organizational Structure

Only a single storage location of a plant could be handled in a warehouse until now. In order to hide complexity and reduce the number of mandatory configuration steps for integration setup in the cloud, entries for integration are created automatically during the warehouse setup. we create entries needed for integration automatically with the warehouse setup page.
This feature allows the handling of up to 11 storage locations in a plant in a single warehouse. It offers configuration UIs for the definition of availability groups and mapping of storage locations to the warehouse.

The configuration UI for stock types in the warehouse has been enhanced to allow the creation of new stock types and assignment of availability groups. The consistency, especially in Q systems, has thereby been improved upon assignment changes.
Autmomatic WT creation for moving semifinished products to next production supply area
When a semifinished product is produced in manufacturing, it might be used as a component for a subsequent production step in the assembly of the finished product. This means that the semifinished products need to be moved to the PSA of the next production line for further use. If you are using direct goods movements into Warehouse Management, the system can use the information in the Target PSA field of the production version to determine the destination bin during automatic warehouse task creation.

Other enhancements
Besides the core enhancements featured above, the current release also includes the following enhancements:
Picking predefined serial numbers:
Serial number can now be copied from delivery management outbound delivery or the warehouse management outbound delivery order.
Outbound Loading with ASR
Advances Shipping and Receiving (ASR) now supports the loading by delivery, by door or by freight order
PMR-quantity based staging
In the staging process using production material requests (PMR) the staging quantity can now be calculated based on the exact PMR item quantities instead of defined minimum and staging quantities. This means, the full quantity can be staged at once, if sufficient production supply area (PSA) capacities are available.
Warehouse Monitor Improvements
The node Storage Bin contains a sub-node Warehouse Task to display the open warehouse task(s) for the selected bin.
Display and referencing of manufacturing order for physical stock is possible
Mass and individual change of handling unit type
Handling Units and their content can also be displayed after goods issue posting
- Physical Inventory Counting now contains batch verification
New Features in the Manage Outbound Delivery Orders app
Edit mode allows information change in various fields
Serial number support in item details or in maintaining serial number assignments
Display of batch hierarchies
Manual creation of warhouse tasks possible
Picking progress indicator
Filter by Transportation Planning Type to filter for ASR relevant deliveries
Microsoft Teams integration
- Navigagtion to the Load or Unload Freight Orders app from the Advanced Shipping & Receiving Cockpit
- Screen personas to modifay the layout of RF screens, for example customizable buttons
- New and improved APIs for warehouse product, handling unit, warehouse order/ warehouse task and available stock
