Introduce SAP EWM Integration - Stock Transport Orders (‏2VL‏)

Description

Using stock transport orders, you can execute a stock transfer process from one plant to another within the same company code. The process starts with the creation of a stock transport order. A warehouse clerk at the shipping plant monitors the materials due for shipment and creates deliveries as required. Once a delivery is created, the system replicates it to the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) system, where an outbound delivery order is created. Warehouse tasks are created, with reference to the outbound delivery order, and the physical process for picking is executed. After the goods issue is posted in the SAP EWM system and sent back to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, an inbound delivery is created and replicated to SAP EWM automatically. This document serves as the starting point for the inbound process in the receiving plant.

The scope item covers three different scenarios:

  • Stock transfer between SAP EWM-managed storage locations.
  • Stock transferred between inventory management storage locations (not SAP EWM-managed) and SAP EWM-managed storage locations.
  • Stock transfer between SAP EWM-managed storage locations and inventory management storage locations (not SAP EWM-managed).

Key Process Steps

Stock transfer from EWM-managed storage locations:

  1. Create stock transport order
    • The stock transport order is created in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system by posting a material movement from one storage location to another. Both storage locations are managed by SAP EWM.
  2. Create replenishment delivery for stock transport order
    • The replenishment delivery is created to transfer the information to the SAP EWM system, by distribution of the replenishment delivery.
  3. Check outbound delivery order in SAP EWM
    • The outbound delivery order is created in the SAP EWM system to process the goods movements with warehouse tasks and warehouse orders.
  4. Create warehouse tasks in SAP EWM
    • The warehouse task for picking is created in the SAP EWM system. A warehouse order is created as well.
  5. Pick warehouse order in SAP EWM
    • The warehouse worker confirms the picking warehouse order and the corresponding warehouse tasks and moves the goods to the goods issue area.
  6. Post goods issue for outbound delivery order in SAP EWM
    • The goods issue is posted in the SAP EWM system to signal that the materials have left the supplying plant/warehouse.
  7. Check statistics of stock transfer
    • By posting the goods issue in SAP EWM, the stock transfer has been updated. From the inventory management side in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, the stock is posted to transit stock. The SAP S/4HANA Cloud system creates an inbound delivery that is distributed to the SAP EWM system for the other EWM-managed storage location receiving the goods.
  8. Check inbound delivery
  9. Post goods receipt in SAP EWM
    • After the SAP EWM inbound delivery has been created and the goods arrive at the warehouse, the goods receipt can be posted in the SAP EWM system.
  10. Create warehouse tasks in SAP EWM for putaway
    • Warehouse tasks are created for putaway in the warehouse. Warehouse orders are created as well.
  11. Confirm warehouse tasks for putaway in SAP EWM
    • The warehouse worker confirms the warehouse orders and warehouse tasks after putaway of the products.
  12. Check status of stock receipt
    • The worker checks if the goods have already arrived.

Stock transfer from IM-managed storage location to EWM-managed storage location:

  1. Create stock transport order
    • The stock transport order is created in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system, by posting a material movement from one storage location to another. The outgoing storage location is managed only by inventory management and the incoming storage location is managed by SAP EWM.
  2. Create replenishment delivery for stock transport order
    • The replenishment delivery is created to transfer the information to the SAP EWM system by distribution of the replenishment delivery.
  3. Pick and post goods issue for outbound delivery
    • Picking and goods issue posting take place in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system, in this case using the outbound delivery, as the picking storage location is not managed by SAP EWM.
  4. Check statistics of stock transfer
    • By posting the goods issue in SAP EWM, the stock transfer has been updated. From the inventory management side in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, the stock is posted to transit stock. The SAP S/4HANA Cloud system creates an inbound delivery that is distributed to the SAP EWM system for the EWM-managed storage location, receiving the goods.
  5. Check inbound delivery
  6. Post goods receipt in SAP EWM
    • After the SAP EWM inbound delivery has been created and the goods arrive at the warehouse, the goods receipt can be posted in the SAP EWM system.
  7. Create warehouse tasks in SAP EWM for putaway
    • Warehouse tasks are created for putaway in the warehouse. Warehouse orders are created as well.
  8. Confirm warehouse tasks for putaway in SAP EWM
    • The warehouse worker confirms the warehouse orders and warehouse tasks after putaway of the products.
  9. Check status of stock receipt
    • The worker checks if the goods have already arrived.

Stock transfer from EWM-managed storage location to IM-managed storage location:

  1. Create stock transport order
    • The stock transport order is created in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system by posting a material movement from one storage location to another. The outgoing storage location is managed by SAP EWM, the incoming storage location is managed only by inventory management.
  2. Create replenishment delivery for stock transport order
    • The replenishment delivery is created to transfer the information to the SAP EWM system by distribution of the replenishment delivery.
The SAP S/4HANA Cloud system creates an inbound delivery for further processing in inventory management.
  8. Check inbound delivery
    • The inbound delivery created is only part of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system, as the receiving storage location is not managed by SAP EWM.
  9. Post goods receipt for transport order
    • The goods receipt for the transport order is posted directly in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system.
  10. Check status of stock receipt
    • The worker checks if the goods have already arrived.
