RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Overview

RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud is a standardized public cloud solution with a comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) scope and selected industry and Line of Business (LoB) scenarios. RISE with SAP refers to the additional resources and benefits on top of the core SAP S/4HANA Cloud software, collectively called business transformation services.

The SAP S/4HANA Cloud software lives in a multi-tenant server and each customer accesses their software through a unique link over the internet. Multi-tenant means that two or more tenants (customers) are sharing the bandwidth of one server. This multi-tenant server resides in an SAP data center. Your cloud provider (SAP) is responsible for maintaining the technical backend of your system and runs your software service in the server where your tenant resides.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud has the fastest innovation, meaning regular release cycles, where new features and enhancements to existing functionality are released. SAP maintains your system with bi-weekly hotfixes and installs the release upgrades to customer systems on the defined release schedule. Please note, only upgrades that affect a customer's existing scope (active business processes) are applied. New business processes that are released are completely up to the customer's discretion as to whether or not to activate the new scope in their system.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud has the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO), because multiple customers are effectively sharing the cost of a server, and because more standardization means SAP can provide far more pre-delivered resources to make the implementation and running the solution as easy as possible.

If you have subscriptions to multiple solutions in addition to SAP S/4HANA Cloud (e.g. SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Concur, etc.), you will have an individual tenant for each software server that may or may not reside in the same data center as your SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP solution.

    • SAP is the default infrastructure provider for public cloud to offer customers the lowest TCO with a complete, packaged software as a service (SaaS) offering.
  • Business Process Intelligence
    • Find industry best practices through the SAP Best Practices Explorer and gain business process knowledge through the Digital Discovery Assessment.
    • Model and redesign your business processes using SAP Signavio Process Manager.
    • Provide transparency to all stakeholders using SAP Process Collaboration Hub by Signavio.
  • Tools & Services
    • Tools and services from SAP support your technical migration, application lifecycle management, and adoption of the solution, including:
      • SAP Launchpad Service runs on the SAP Business Technology Platform and enables customers to establish a central point of access to SAP and third party solutions. SAP Mobile Start is the native mobile app that facilitates a user accessing content in their launchpad, and is configured via SAP Launchpad Service.
      • SAP Cloud ALM is a comprehensive application lifecycle management tool with extensive implementation and operations capabilities for cloud solutions.
      • SAP Enable Now and SAP Learning Hub facilitate end-user adoption of the solution with learning resources easily accessed from within SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
        • Editing existing SAP Enable Now content and creating your own requires a license.
        • SAP Learning Hub requires a license.
  • SAP Business Technology Platform
    • Cloud Platform Enterprise Agreement Credits (CPEA) can be used as a prepaid debit card for different services on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). You can complement, extend, and integrate with any other solution (SAP, partner, or third party) and use the data model and business services on SAP BTP to connect it all.
  • SAP Business Network Starter Pack
    • Connect and collaborate across your company and beyond with unified access to the world's largest business network including SAP's supplier, logistics, and asset intelligence networks. The starter pack includes limited access to:
      • Ariba Network for sourcing and procurement.
      • Asset Management Network for collecting and tracking equipment information in a cloud-based central repository.

RISE with SAP Service Delivery Model

SAP delivers and manages the software, support, infrastructure, and technical services under one Service Level Agreement (SLA). Partners deliver advisory, implementation, and application management services to facilitate a seamless transition to the cloud for customers under a separate contract.

  3. The Terms and Conditions webpage might open. In this case, review the Terms and Conditions and selectI Accept. Moreover, create your Initial Password (8 characters - 1 Upper case, 1 lower case and 1 digit) and Click Access Trial.

  4. Follow the URL in the verification e-mail that you obtain.

  5. Click on the Application URL to open the SAP Fiori Launchpad Trial Center.

  6. Enter your User Name and Password.

  7. Complete the role-based guided tours in the Guided Tours section of the Trial Center.
