SAP BW Objects as ODP Providers (ODP_BW)
The Operational Data Provisioning framework supports data transfer between SAP BW/4HANA systems. SAP BW is also supported as a source system and a target system.

There are requirements regarding the source and target BW system and available objects to use ODP_BW.

If the source BW-system has an older release (7.0 to 7.31), then the ODP framework is restricted to Export DataSources (8*) which can be generated for InfoCubes and DataStore Objects (classic). In this case, the target system requires following status at least: SAP BW 7.5 SP07 or SAP BW/4HANA 1.0 SP04.
InfoProviders or generated Export DataSources for InfoProviders, generate Operational Data Providers of source system type ODP_BW.
Detailed information on Transferring Data from SAP BW or SAP BW/4HANA Systems via ODP (InfoProviders, Export DataSources) can be found in this documentation: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_BW4HANA/107a6e8a38b74ede94c833ca3b7b6f51/ef3341bc65c747fba1509fdfb250b452.html?version=2021.04
Generic DataSources Referring to the MySelf Source System
In contrast to SAP BW, there is only limited support for the Myself source system in SAP BW/4HANA. This means that SAP BW/4HANA does not support the creation of new generic DataSources in transaction RSO2
. There is migration support for existing DataSources of this type and these can also be maintained in SAP BW/4HANA. This exception applies only for In-place, Remote, or Shell-Conversions of existing 7.x Myself-DataSources, which will be mapped to an ODP_SAP Myself source system created by the corresponding tools. However, after the conversion to SAP BW/4HANA, new data flows of this type cannot be created (for example, tr. RSO2 only provides display or delete options, but nocreation option).
