Exploring Integration Management

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to list the tools within the Integration Manager task and describe their functionality.

Cloud Integration Gateway

By leveraging the SAP Cloud Platform integration, SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway:

Supports the configuration on the basis of the core ERP capabilities
Simplifies integration by using a guidance-based setup
Provides an integrated test framework to verify various scenarios configured in the system
Aligns with SAP standard software delivery processes by supporting download through the SAP Service Marketplace and by addressing issues with standard SAP Notes and correction instructions
Uses the single sign-on functionality to enable buyers to access their SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway account from their Ariba Network, SAP Ariba Procurement solutions, or SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing solutions account
Offers tools such as:
- Document Validator tool to validate documents for schema, content and transformation
- Supplier Reporting to view the integration status of their suppliers
- Transaction Tracker to search and track transaction status
- Test Central to help users perform self-test before moving to a production environment

SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway provides an Integration-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution.

SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway facilitates the integration of buyers' SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA systems with Ariba Network and SAP Ariba solutions.

Integration Manager

The permissions that grant access to Integration Manager are Integration Admin and/or Customer Administrator. Integration Admin grants specific access to Integration Manager and Site Manager → Data Import/Export.

Data Import/Export

Used to load data, such as users, suppliers, and commodity codes to the site; all data import/tasks available in Integration Manager also appear in Site Manager. Depending on the import operation, the file will be used to create, update, or deactivate data. Data export tasks gives a snapshot of the active data in the site, and the exported file generally serves as a template for the corresponding data import task.

After a task is executed, click Refresh Status to check the status of the task. An exclamation mark (!) indicates that the task completed with errors or warnings.

Each site's data dictionary and these best practices for working with CSV files help reduce errors when importing and exporting data.

Data Definition

The data definition allows administrators to review and accept changes to data import and export tasks or remove changes previously accepted. Changes include default configuration fields added in a software release or custom fields added by SAP Ariba Customer Support.

Integration Configuration

Configure certain import and export tasks to use SAP Ariba Web Services, which exchange data between SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing and Contract Management Solutions and your external system for real-time data integration. A typical external system is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) system. Additionally, access a task's details to view the Web Services Description Language (WSDL) output for the task.

End Point Configuration

An end point consists of the URL and authentication information that controls access to the end point. Each integration task configured for SAP Ariba Web Services requires an end point: specify an inbound end point for import tasks (initiated in the external system) and an outbound end point for export tasks (initiated in the SAP Ariba solution).

Integration Toolkit Security

After the SAP Ariba Integration Toolkit is downloaded, specify the preferred authentication method (shared secret or certificate). Enter up to five email addresses (separated by commas or semicolons, with no spaces) to receive notifications after a data import or export task runs.

Check the version of your Integration Toolkit to see if newer version is required.
