Creating a Custom Mapping for Line Item Level Extrinsic

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create a custom mapping for the line-item level extrinsic field

Mapping Extrinsic Node at Line-Item Level

In this use case we are going to explore how the custom mapping tool can be used to map any line-item level element from the source structure to an element at the line-item level in the target structure.

To create the custom mapping, we are going to use the node functions listed below.

  • Direct mapping one-to-one
  • Add constant value
  • Add source condition
  • Target variable
  • Duplicate node
  • Position variable

In this scenario, we are going to create a custom mapping for the OrderRequest document type. Refer to the material group value of each of the line items in the purchase order IDOC to be mapped to a newly created extrinsic filed in line-item level in Order Request cXML document:

  • In the source IDOC structure, the material group node can be found under ORDERS >> E1EDP01 >> MATKL.
  • The value to mapped to the newly created Extrinsic node in the cXML structure is found under OrderRequest >> ItemOut >> ItemDetail > Extrinsic (2)

Follow the simulation below to create the mapping.
