Creating Logical System

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create logical system for outbound IDocs

About Logical Systems

A logical system is used to identify an individual client in a system containing applications that are coordinated to work with one set of data. Due to the distribution of data between systems, each logical system must have a unique identifier.

The logical system value you add in this configuration step has nothing to do with your SAP system’s logical system ID. The value you define will be used by the Interface Setup Integration program for automatically creating outbound parameters for outbound IDocs in the Partner profile (WE20) settings for Partner Type LS (Logical System). This logical system value will appear as "Partner" in Partner profile settings under which all the outbound parameters will be created.

The outbound IDocs are used in:

  • Network integration transaction data
  • SAP Ariba Sourcing integration transaction data and Article Master Data
