Defining Cross References for Parameters, UOM Mappings, Lookup Values, and Realm ID

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to add appropriate values for cross references for parameters, UOM mappings, lookup value, and realm ID in the managed gateway

Defining Cross References for Parameters, UOM, Lookup Tables, and Realm ID

Cross Reference: Parameters

The Cross Reference Parameters are in fact part of the standard mappings where field values may vary from customer to customer. These field values must be defined by customers.  Maintaining cross references allows you to map customer-specific values for certain fields, such as Text ID, as necessary for the supported transactions or document types.

The document types associated with the supported transactions, the related parameters, and the related templates are added by the SAP Ariba Administrator. You can define the values for both Test and Production environments.

Cross Reference: UOM (Unit of Measure)

Similar to the Cross Reference Parameters, the Cross Reference UOM Template is also a part of the standard mappings where field values may vary from customer to customer. These field values must be defined by customers.

You can define the Cross Reference UOM mappings between the UOM code in SAP Ariba solutions with UOM code in SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA. To do this, download the template CSV file available on the portal, maintain the mappings for all such UOM codes that you use by providing the corresponding SAP value, and then upload the template. Alternatively, you can maintain the mappings from the UI itself one-by-one. You can define the values for both Test and Production environments. This UOM mapping template must be maintained for the projects created for SAP Ariba Sourcing and Ariba Network (SAP Business Network).

Cross Reference: Lookup Table

The Cross Reference Lookup Table is also a part of the standard mappings where field values may vary from customer to customer. These field values must be defined by customers. The Cross Reference Lookup Table must be maintained only for certain transactions or document types, such as Real Time Budget Check, Total Landed Cost, Sourcing Contracts, etc.

You can specify SAP values against SAP Ariba values for the given document types or transactions based on your requirements. You can define the values for both Test and Production environments.

Cross Reference: Realm ID

The Cross Reference Realm ID is required to be maintained to map your SAP Ariba realm with an integration project. This will establish the relation between your SAP Ariba realm and your back end SAP system.

Maintaining this association is critical, especially when you have a multi-ERP environment. You need to associate the realm IDs of your SAP Ariba solution for both Test and Production environments.
