Defining Standard Mappings

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to define standard mappings in the managed gateway

Defining Standard Mappings

The third step in an integration project in the managed gateway is to define mappings. In this step there is no action required by the user. The mappings referred to here are standard (out-of-the-box) mappings, which are the integration flows (i-flows) designed, developed, and maintained by SAP Ariba. Customers or users do not have access to the standard mappings. They can only view the standard mapping documents stored in the form of excel files under the Resources section of the managed gateway.

These mapping documents contain detailed information about all the fields that are mapped between the source payload and target payload of all the document types for the supported integration solutions such as SAP Ariba Sourcing, SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing, SAP Business Network, etc.

Customers can use these mappings as a reference for customizing a business scenario that meets their own requirements. These standard mappings can be overridden using the Custom Mapping Tool to fit the customer’s business process.
