Building an eSAC Dashboard

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create an eSAC Dashboard in SAP DM Insights from scratch

Exercise: Creating a Query

In the first step, we must create a query of MDOs and select their data objects to bring the correct data into our dashboard.

Creating the Layout

In the next step we need to think about the appearance of the dashboard. Therefore, the next step is to design the layout.

Exercise: Creating KPIs with Calculations

In the third step, we want to add the First Pass Yield in percent (FPY) along with the quantity of SFCs produced per order, the number of items identified as Not Okay (NOK), and the number of Okay (OK) items.

Practice System

Exercise: Adding a MDO and Create a Table

Next, we want to select the specific MDO and its data objects to show where a nonconformance was recorded, including the operation, nonconformance code, user, and actual nonconformance code. According to the customer, this data should be displayed in a table.

Exercise: Creating a Bar Chart

Here, we aim to create two bar charts as requested by the customer: One displaying the various reason codes along with their respective amounts, and the other showing the manufacturers of components where a nonconformance was recorded.

Exercise: Fulfilling the Layout

Although this step is not specifically required by the customer, it is always recommended to add the customer's logo, the current logged-in user, and the current time. It enhances the visual appeal of the dashboard.

Exercise: Creating a Filter

In the second last step, we must add an order-filter.

Exercise: Setting Up Linked Dimensions

In the final step, we must set up linked dimensions. This is necessary because we used different data sources (MDOs) to build this dashboard. When we apply a filter, as we did in the previous step, only the selected data source object responds to it. However, to ensure that every object responds to the filter, we can use linked dimensions to connect the different data sources via a key (such as SFC to SFC).
