Executing Maintenance Tasks

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to execute an Order

Executing Maintenance Tasks

In the execution phase the technician receives the order papers, gets the required material from the warehouse and executes the maintenance task.

If the technician has access to the SAP system, he/she can use a special web-based app to perform the task.

Material Withdrawal

Image shows three boxes, with arrow icons between them going from one box to the next. The text in the first box reads Pick list. The second box reads Planned material withdrawal and unplanned material withdrawal. The third box reads Maintenance order.

Manual workers withdraw materials from the warehouse to perform maintenance tasks. There are two types of withdrawal:

  • Planned withdrawal of stock material
  • Unplanned withdrawal of stock material

Integration

When a material is withdrawn from stock a direct integration with Inventory Management (within MM) is available. The available stock of the material is reduced according to the withdrawal quantity. In addition, a direct integration with Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) is available: the accounts and cost elements are determined automatically and the corresponding documents are posted in the background.

SAP GUI Transactions

As an alternative to working in SAP Fiori Launchpad you can use the following transactions.

For the On Premise edition they are available via SAP GUI for Windows.

In addition, every transaction also has a SAP GUI for HTML version.

Transactions for Execution of Maintenance Orders:

  • IW32 - Change Order
  • IW38 - List Editing Change
  • MIGO - Post Goods Movement
