CDS Views
A more modern way of analyzing business data which is typical for the S/4HANA embedded analytics is the use of CDS views.
One of the major characteristics of SAP S/4HANA is that transactional and analytical processing are combined and based on the same database tables. SAP S/4HANA supports this concept via SAP Core-Data-Services-(CDS-)Views for the operational reporting in realtime.
CDS views give you immediate access to live data on the SAP HANA database without using separate tables with aggregated data. CDS views are developed, maintained and enhanced in the ABAP layer of SAP S/4HANA system. The system generates SQL runtime views in SAP HANA, in order to read and transform the data within the SAP HANA database layer.
Analytical Apps Technical Object Breakdowns and Technical Object Damages
Technical Object Breakdowns and Technical Object Damages are Fiori-based analytical apps which use CDS views. They visualize breakdowns and damages of technical objects.
The screen is divided into three sections:
Each section provides a settings dialog to adapt the display to the desired perspective. The table section contains a drilldown functionality which allows to display the notification which is at the origin of a certain key figure.
Analytical Apps for analyzing Maintenance Order Costs
The app Actual Cost Analysis supports you in monitoring and evaluating actual costs resulting from current maintenance orders. It enables you, for example, to analyze the actual costs for materials and labor in maintenance or to compare the total corrective and preventive actual maintenance costs during a selected time period. In addition, you can easily identify the maintenance activities leading to the highest costs or the parts of the asset that were particularly costly on inspections. Altogether, this analytical list page offers you multiple possibilities to evaluate actual maintenance costs.
Filters allow you to analyze critical costs in a specific fiscal year from different perspectives, such as the order type, the construction type, the location, the planner group or the manufacturer. A condensed view enables you to identify and compare relevant areas within data sets using data visualization and business intelligence. On the other hand, you can also navigate directly to significant single instances. All this can be done seamlessly within one page that combines transactional and analytical data using chart and table visualization.
This app is available for the maintenance planner user role.
In addition, the app supports the following technical features and options:
If the long material number has been activated in your back-end system, it is automatically displayed in the Material field in this SAP Fiori app. For more information, see section Extended Material Number in SAP Fiori Apps in the SAP S/4HANA UI Technology Guide. This app also runs in standalone mode.
This app uses the C_MaintOrderActualCostQ CDS view.
The app Maintenance Order Costs works in a similar way as app Actual Cost Analysis - but in addition to actual costs also contains estimated, baseline and planned costs.
