Now that we’ve covered the pricing model and discounts, let’s begin creating a rate plan.
Creating a Rate Plan
Rate plans represent the pricing of products and include information on charges and billing cycles. The rate plan dictates what Subscription Billing determines as a product falling under a One-Time Charge, Recurring Charge, Usage-Based Charge, or a combination of these. As covered earlier in this unit, the prerequisite for a rate plan is a rate plan template. The rate plan is generated from this existing template and assigned to a market. Rate plans, like rate plan templates, are created "with" or "without" pricing schemes.

Note
- Without the use of SAP Price Calculation, you can still manage product parameters. However, these parameters are limited to stating the quantity of a contract item.
- Each product is associated with at least one rate plan. Several rate plans can be created, but only one rate plan can be associated with a market.
- Rate plans with a product usage charge must include technical resources, which allow SAP Subscription Billing rate usage data for the subscription. The SAP Fiori app will prompt you to add the necessary technical resources.

Next, let’s look at allowance templates.
