Managing the Subscription Lifecycle

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to manage the subscription lifecycle

Managing the Subscription Lifecycle

A subscription may remain in one of several statuses:

  • Pending: The subscription is not fully provisioned. The subscription is pending data. Under a pending status a subscription is not rated and billed.
  • Rejected: The pending subscription was rejected and will not be processed further in the system.
  • Failed: The provisioning of the pending subscription failed and was not completed due to an error.
  • Not Started: The Valid From date of subscription is set for a future date. However, the subscription is fully provisioned with the necessary data required to rate and bill the subscription.
  • Active: The subscription Valid From date has started. The subscription is rated and billed, either indefinitely or until its expiration date.
  • Paused: The subscription is on hold and will resume on a specified date. Recurring charges are not billed during the pause.
  • Canceled: The subscription is active, but the customer made a request to cancel. The canceled subscription is scheduled to expire on the next possible expiration date in accordance with the subscription terms. The cancellation can be reversed before the cancellation date.
  • Withdrawn: The subscription has been withdrawn. The customer requested to cancel without a penalty during the withdrawal period. Any charges incurred during the withdrawal period are fully refunded. The subscription ends on the start of the day after the withdrawal.
  • Expired: The subscription has reached its Valid Unit expiration date or was canceled or withdrawn. The subscription is rated and billed up to the day before the expiration date.
