The SAP Business Accelerator Hub is a platform that provides preconfigured business processes, integrations, and extensions. These can be used to accelerate the implementation of SAP solutions and maximize the value for the company.
The SAP Business Accelerator Hub is a one-stop shop that helps customers and partners achieve success with their projects faster and more efficiently by providing access to best practices, guides, and tools. It offers a variety of artifacts, such as preconfigured scenarios, guides, best practices, sample code, and software components (APIs for example). These artifacts support the implementation, configuration, and use of SAP solutions and technologies. Let's take a closer look at some of them, focusing on the capabilities.
Several different types of artifacts such as APIs and Integrations are discoverable in the SAP Business Accelerator Hub.
To get detailed information about, for example, the available APIs for a product, you can select a specific product tile. If you want to know, for example, which APIs are available with SAP SuccessFactors, you can try out these APIs in a sandbox.
At the same level, the Integrations menu contains a large number of artifacts such as:
If you want to find out, for example, if there are already out-of-the-box integrations available for the integration of SAP SuccessFactors with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, you would navigate to the landing page and select the product (in this case SAP SuccessFactors). In the next step, select the partner, SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
As a result, the existing possibilities display (integration packages in this case). To dive deeper into a specific package, you would just select it.
When navigating deeper into a specific integration flow, you can find a complete description, the integration flow itself, and further information. You could also import this package into the cloud integration, customize it, and execute it.
There are predefined artifacts for this area provided. Navigate from the landing page through Explore to Domains → Build.
SAP Build offers ready-made business processes, task automations, and application templates for SAP Build Process Automation and SAP Build Apps.
Further processes can be found under Explore → Process Automation.
Various useful artifacts can also be found here. APIs, which can be used for side-by-side extensibility, can be explored. CDS views (located under Explore → CDS Views) can also be discovered and can be used when creating ABAP RESTful application programming model applications.
As a solution architect, you're responsible for designing the technological architectures for solving business problems and requests with SAP BTP. Knowing the technology and capabilities is just one thing. You should also know the reference architectures within SAP Discovery Center, which you can use as a starting point in your projects and jump start your projects progress.
The SAP BTP reference architectures of the SAP Business Technology Platform offer a template solution for architecture in a particular technology domain, such as integration, extensions, hyperscaler integration, or data and analytics. They describe which services to choose and how these interact with each other and with business applications from SAP, partners, or third parties. You can find a collection of reference architectures in SAP Discovery Center Architecture Catalog.
Note
Whenever it was suitable, we've linked related reference architectures in the further content of this learning journey. When you find a reference architecture that sounds useful for you, just open it, and you will see all the details like a detailed description, services and components, and further resources. You can also explore related missions and learning resources, which can help you take the next step in implementing a reference architecture and estimate the cost of implementation. You can also download the SAP BTP reference architecture diagrams and adapt them to your needs.
When you design architectures, you want to visualize them in a understandable and standardized way. The SAP BTP Solution Diagram Repository helps you with this. You get a detailed design guideline, templates for different tools and access to service icons of SAP BTP.
SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Solution Diagrams offer high-level, abstract visualizations of technical landscapes. These diagrams are essential for helping customers understand the breadth of BTP Services and Solutions provided by SAP, and how these integrate with other SAP products.
These domain-specific diagrams present solution scenarios across IT landscapes, showcasing SAP BTP services, systems, environments, and their interdependencies. The primary goal of BTP Solution Diagrams is to create visually compelling and insightful high-level solution architectures utilizing the SAP Fiori Horizon design system.
BTP Solution Diagrams can be customized with varying levels of detail to suit the technical expertise of the intended audience. Similar to L0–L2/L3 presentations, these diagrams can be interpreted by diverse audiences, making them suitable for both internal stakeholders and external entities like customers and business partners.
Currently, editable BTP Solution Diagram templates are available for:
We plan to extend support to other editors in the future. Please provide feedback and ideas to assist us in this effort.
To begin working with SAP BTP Solution Diagrams, visit SAP BTP Solution Diagram Repository and start to design your diagrams.
In the realm of technology and architecture, two types of diagrams are commonly used: technical architecture model (TAM) diagrams and solution diagrams. Each serves a unique purpose and caters to different levels of detail and visual representation.
TAM diagrams provide technical and detailed descriptions of architectures, use cases, and processes. They utilize a reduced and standardized set of icons and shapes to maintain consistency.
Can be used at any design level, making them versatile for various stages of project development. Emphasize precision and technical accuracy.
Solution Diagrams are domain-specific and are designed to illustrate SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) solution scenarios across IT landscapes.
Showcase SAP BTP services, environments, systems, and their interdependencies while using specific icons tailored to SAP BTP services and focusing on the creation of clean and standardized solution architectures for SAP BTP.
Design guidelines for SAP BTP Solution Diagrams include foundational elements such as colors, spacing, and text placement, as well as more specific instructions on how to define areas and their nesting, connections, and the use of icons, product names, numbers, and other elements. These guidelines ensure that the diagrams are not only visually appealing but also clear and informative.
There are also some examples of solution diagrams available. You can find them here: SAP BTP Solution Diagrams - Examples.
The SAP Trust Center is your single source of truth for everything around security, compliance, data protection, privacy, and more for the SAP portfolio. So if you're searching for any of these information types for a particular product, you should find it there.
As a Solution Architect, you sit in an essential position and role in shaping the technical and operational backbone of an organization. You’re not just building systems, you’re crafting solutions that align with the business's strategic goals while ensuring seamless integration, performance, and reliability. This critical position also makes you the central point of accountability when it comes to addressing key concerns like security, compliance, data privacy, and service level agreements (SLAs). Stakeholders, from business leaders to regulators, depend on your expertise to ensure that the solutions you design are not only functional but also robust, secure, and trustworthy. Whether it’s about safeguarding sensitive data, meeting regulatory requirements, or ensuring system uptime commitments, your ability to address these aspects builds confidence and prevents risks from derailing the business. This learning journey gives you a first overview on SAP Trust Center as the central entry point for this kind of information in the SAP ecosystem.
Global cloud delivery services through SAP protect you from external threats, help you collect and process personal data lawfully, and enable you to meet regulatory and compliance requirements. Additionally, we offer specific security and sovereignty in the way we deliver our services, always tailored to your industry and business needs. In SAP Trust Center all information are bundled in one place. You can access information on:
From the starting page of the SAP Trust Center, you navigate into the details for each of the listed topics. As an example, we'll give you an overview on the data protection and privacy area and the agreements section. To check all out, visit SAP Trust Center.
Data Protection and Privacy (DPP) primarily refers to various laws around the world that regulate how organizations use certain types of data.
All of the security measures discussed in the previous sections can help organizations comply with these laws.
However, DPP is not just about protecting data from intruders or malicious users, but also about managing relevant data in a way that does not compromise individual privacy. For example, a customer may wish to exercise their right to be forgotten. In this case, your organization must ensure that your systems do not store any of the customer's personal data. Another example of a compliance requirement is obtaining the customer's consent to use their data for a specific purpose.
If all technical and organizational measures are in place to protect the data, SAP BTP's specific requirement is limited to the personal data stored for the operation of the platform. For this purpose, SAP BTP stores a limited amount of user data and provides the necessary means to delete this data if necessary.
Thereafter, the responsibility for compliance with data protection laws lies primarily with you as a user of the platform. You manage the data that the platform processes for your business activities and must, therefore, take the necessary precautions and set up binding mechanisms. In this context, you can use some of SAP BTP's functions for legal compliance. For example, you can use the authorization concepts to ensure that only authorized users can access regulation-relevant data.
Additionally, SAP BTP offers SAP Data Privacy Integration that you can use to fulfill DPP requirements.
If you want to learn about the components of an agreement for cloud services, software, services, and partner offerings, the agreements section of SAP Trust Center is the right place. In there, you can find the service level agreements for SAP Cloud Services, Service Description Guides explaining you what capabilities and features a service offers, general terms and conditions, AI terms and conditions, and further policies like, for example, the details on the In-Metro-DR offering for SAP BTP services. Important to know as you are the central person responsible for your designed architectures against your stakeholders.
