A New Era of Business Process Management

Business Process Management (BPM) and related disciplines and solutions have witnessed a phenomenal expansion in their scope and boundaries, primarily due to the influence of generative AI.

In fact, BPM is a discipline with a very long and rich history, and the most significant advancements were brought by the advent of digital technology. The introduction of the first digital tools to manage collaborative business process models is what we refer to as the first generation of BPM solutions.  

The second wave happened a few years after with the introduction of the first commercial tools for process mining and process analytics. This was a completely disruptive force in the market that brought a new, fresh, data-driven perspective into transformation programs.

Our direction at SAP Signavio is to leverage generative AI as the main catalyst for the new generation of business transformation management solutions.  Generative AI is really going to make us rethink the world of possibilities. Our Focus

Within the context of SAP Business AI, we are developing generative AI-enabled capabilities for SAP Signavio solutions that are specific to the process world and support process management and business transformation. To do so, the SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite is leveraging initiatives and technology based on SAP Business AI. 

SAP is taking an open-ecosystem approach to generative AI. For the SAP Signavio portfolio, we develop our solutions based on that approach, working with different partners.

SAP Business AI in SAP Signavio generates ready-to-consume process model recommendations based on expert knowledge trained on LLM out of SAP and customer best practices. Customers leveraging SAP Signavio’s process recommender capability see substantial benefits including 10% reduction in Business process management training costs and 9% reduction in business process mapping costs.

This capability provides process owners and analysts instant recommendations on the process performance indicators to be monitored out of a database of thousands KPIs and PPIs. Recommendations are grounded in years of SAP experience working side by side with industry leaders and thousands of projects delivered.

SAP Signavio AI-assisted process analyzer, text to insights allows process analysts to generate focused and relevant insights fast by using a conversational approach. Customers leveraging the AI-assisted process analyzer can see benefits of up to 50% reduction in time to access insights.

A preview version of the process analyzer, text to insights capability is available via a BETA program offered to SAP Signavio Process Intelligence customers. Customers who are interested in joining the program can contact their SAP Signavio account executive or customer success partner.

With the SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite November release, Joule is integrated into the SAP Signavio Process Collaboration Hub and available to SAP Signavio customers in Germany and the US joining a dedicated Early Adopter Care program (EAC).

With the start of EAC, Joule in SAP Signavio delivers early informational, navigational and transactional use cases such as the possibility to ask Joule how to create a dashboard ("tell me how…"), where to find a certain process diagram or accelerator ("tell me where…"), or request the co-pilot to execute a task such as creating or deleting a journey model ("do this…").
