Adding Activities to Development Goals

<div id="content"><p tabindex="0">If you have the Continuous Performance module enabled in your SAP SuccessFactors application, you’re able to add activities to your development goals. We are focusing on the integration of CPM with Development Goals.</p><p tabindex="0"></p><p tabindex="0">Before you can add activities to the development goals, make sure Role-Based Permissions (RBPs) have been granted to access Continuous Performance Management. The integration between CPM and Development Goals is automatically enabled with Latest Development Goals.</p><p tabindex="0">Once a development goal has been added, you can add as many activities to the goal as you wish.</p></div>

Welcome to the Add Activities exercise. If you have the Continuous Performance Management module enabled, the integration between activities and latest development goals is also enabled automatically. Today we'll create an activity for a development goal on our goal plan. I've logged in with the CDP Admin user ID and I'll navigate to Goals and then Development Goal. I'll select the Writing Skills goal to open the Details screen where the Activities section is located. Now I can choose Create Activity and enter the details of the activity. I'll enter an activity to register for writing skills class with a status of Medium, which is the default. Notice the goal we started from is already linked to the activity. I'll save the activity, close the prompt, and our new activity is listed in the goal. For our next step, we'll create an activity for the same goal, but as our Manager, Felicia. So the first thing I need to do is proxy as Felicia. After selecting Proxy Now, I'll enter Felicia's name so I can choose it. Now that we've switched to Felicia, I'll choose the Goal Action Card. Since I'm proxied as Felicia, the people selector shows her reports, so I'll select my name to access my goals. I want to add another activity to the writing skills goal, but this time instead of selecting the goal first, I'll use the Goal Action menu to add a new activity. I'll keep it simple and just add Felicia's activity with a Medium status and save it. I'll change back to myself and use the Manage Goals Card again to view my development goals. I'll select the writing skills goal to view the goal details and I can now see the two activities. If I select one of the activities, it takes me to the Continuous Performance module for the activity details and I can even add activity updates or request feedback on activities. And that's it for this exercise. We've successfully created and viewed activities for a goal on our goal plan.
