If an SAP S/4HANA feeder system is the recipient of commodity codes or customs tariff numbers transferred from SAP GTS, classification in SAP S/4HANA for international trade must be set up. With the exception of a numbering scheme for the CN (EU01) and its assignment to most of the Member States, there is no delivery Customizing. You therefore have to add and activate the numbering scheme content and to define and assign a unit of measure system for special units of measure.

As in SAP GTS, a numbering scheme content in international trade determines the source of the codes. For commodity codes and customs tariff numbers, you can choose from three options:
- Local (manual maintenance)
- Data Provider
- SAP GTS
If commodity codes or customs tariff numbers are to be transferred from SAP GTS, select SAP GTS in the Content Source field of the numbering scheme content (Governance, Risk and Compliance → International Trade → Classification → Commodity Codes → Define Numbering Scheme Content for Commodity Codes or Governance, Risk and Compliance → International Trade → Classification → Customs Tariff Numbers → Define Numbering Scheme Content for Customs Tariff Numbers).
As in SAP GTS, activate the numbering scheme content by assigning it to its numbering scheme (Governance, Risk and Compliance → International Trade → Classification → Commodity Codes → Activate Numbering Scheme Content for Commodity Codes and Customs Tariff Numbers → Activate Numbering Scheme Content for Customs Tariff Numbers respectively).
The unit of measure system in international trade must be set up in accordance with its equivalent in SAP GTS (Governance, Risk and Compliance → International Trade → Classification → Define Unit of Measure System).
