Setting Up the Transfer of Commodity Codes to SAP S/4HANA

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to set up the transfer of commodity codes to SAP S/4HANA.

Settings in the SAP S/4HANA Feeder System

If an SAP S/4HANA feeder system is the recipient of commodity codes or customs tariff numbers transferred from SAP GTS, classification in SAP S/4HANA for international trade must be set up. With the exception of a numbering scheme for the CN (EU01) and its assignment to most of the Member States, there is no delivery Customizing. You therefore have to add and activate the numbering scheme content and to define and assign a unit of measure system for special units of measure.

Numbering Scheme Content for the CN (Example)

As in SAP GTS, a numbering scheme content in international trade determines the source of the codes. For commodity codes and customs tariff numbers, you can choose from three options:

  • Local (manual maintenance)
  • Data Provider
  • SAP GTS

If commodity codes or customs tariff numbers are to be transferred from SAP GTS, select SAP GTS in the Content Source field of the numbering scheme content (Governance, Risk and ComplianceInternational TradeClassificationCommodity CodesDefine Numbering Scheme Content for Commodity Codes or Governance, Risk and ComplianceInternational TradeClassificationCustoms Tariff NumbersDefine Numbering Scheme Content for Customs Tariff Numbers).

As in SAP GTS, activate the numbering scheme content by assigning it to its numbering scheme (Governance, Risk and ComplianceInternational TradeClassificationCommodity CodesActivate Numbering Scheme Content for Commodity Codes and Customs Tariff NumbersActivate Numbering Scheme Content for Customs Tariff Numbers respectively).

The unit of measure system in international trade must be set up in accordance with its equivalent in SAP GTS (Governance, Risk and ComplianceInternational TradeClassificationDefine Unit of Measure System).

Settings in the SAP GTS system

The configuration of the transfer of commodity codes and customs tariff numbers in SAP GTS basically consists of four steps:

  1. Create a model view in the distribution model of the SAP GTS system's client for message types /SAPSLL/CLSMD_SLL and /SAPSLL/PRCLS_SLL.
  2. Activate change pointers generally and for message types /SAPSLL/CLSMD_SLL and /SAPSLL/PRCLS_SLL.
  3. Distribute existing codes and classifications using the program /SAPSLL/COMCO_RETRANSFER_INIT.
  4. Schedule the regular transfer of new and changed codes and classifications (program /SAPSLL/COMCO_RETRANSFER) .

The creation of the model view and the activation of change pointers is described in the Configuration Guide for SAP GTS.

In addition to these settings, the key of the numbering scheme in the SAP S/4HANA feeder system must be assigned to its equivalent in SAP GTS in the Feeder System Scheme field (SAP Global Trade Services, edition for SAP HANAGeneral SettingsNumbering SchemesCommodity CodesDefine Numbering Scheme for Commodity Codes and Tariff NumbersDefine Numbering Scheme for Tariff Numbers respectively).

Assignment of a Numbering Scheme for Retransfer

The program /SAPSLL/COMCO_RETRANSFER transfers data for all numbering schemes that have not been excluded from retransfer by setting the Exclude indicator.
