You can use the Manage ESG Data app to transfer your emission data from the activities that you record in SAP EHS Management, environment management, to SAP Sustainability Control Tower for use in your company's greenhouse gas (GHG) recording.
Once imported, you can use the associated emission data with the sustainability metrics for GHG emissions across SAP Sustainability Control Tower to view and analyze the emission data in the View Emission Dashboard app. You can choose to import yearly, monthly, or quarterly data based on the time period you choose in SAP EHS Management, environment management. If data is aggregated on a monthly basis in SAP EHS Management, environment management, then you can import it by months.
The import uses your SAP S/4HANA configuration for data replication to import calculation results, data collections, and location aggregations using CDS views. You can import data only for the given time period. You can transform the replicated data and store it into the emissions DPI.
There are certain restrictions when importing data.
- The system only imports data for the listed substance, carbon-dioxide equivalent, measured in metric tons.
- SAP EHS Management supports a subset of the available GHG data classifiers.
- The system only imports approved, non-preliminary data.
- You must assign the data to locations of type Site or Plant. These locations require a PlantID, which serves as the identifier for the business location hierarchy of the imported data. You must maintain your SAP Sustainability Control Tower business location hierarchy with the required plants.
Steps for Data Import
Follow these steps to import data from SAP EHS Management, environment management:
- Open the Manage ESG Data app from your SAP Fiori launchpad and select the measure CO2e emissions.
- Select the Import from SAP System dropdown, choose the option SAP EHS Management, and wait for the connectivity check to complete.
- Select a period for which you want to import data and choose Import.
- Once the import has run, you have different options to proceed depending on the import status:
- If the import is complete, you can validate it next.
- If the import is complete with issues, you have two options. You can choose to review issues first and re-import the data or you can choose to validate data that has been successful and resolve any data with issues later.
- If the import fails, a message provides you with more details on how to resolve the issue.
- Once your data validates, you can publish it to make it available across SAP Sustainability Control Tower.
