Introducing Pricing

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to use conditions for pricing

Condition Master Data

Note

See the following video to learn more about condition master data and the structure of condition records:

Examples of Condition Types

A condition type contains a calculation type (like percentage) and a scale base type like value scale. Examples of these are also shown.

The condition type determines the category of a condition and describes how the condition is used.

For each condition type, you can control the scale base type and the calculation type.

Scale Base Types and Calculation Types

The following table lists the possible scale base types and calculation types:

Possible Scale Base TypePossible Calculation Type
ValuePercentage of an initial value
ValueFixed amount
QuantityAmount by unit of measure
WeightAmount per unit of weight
VolumeAmount per unit of volume
PeriodQuantity per unit of time

Condition Maintenance

There are two main maintenance options for conditions: based on pricing reports and based on condition types. Examples of both are also shown.

An additional maintenance interface is provided for condition maintenance in SAP ERP.

The new interface allows mass maintenance of conditions based on characteristics, such as customers.

This means that you can now update condition records across all condition types and condition tables. For example, you can display and maintain the material prices and the discounts and surcharges for a customer in a single step.

You can also use the previous maintenance transaction for conditions by choosing the Select Using Condition Type node.
