Configuring SAP Ariba Guided Buying End Points

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to configure the end points for tactical sourcing

End Points for Tactical Sourcing

End Point Configuration in the SAP Business Network Buyer Account

If you use the guided buying capability, several additional end points must be configured for the SAP Business Network buyer account to support the tactical sourcing scenario that allows you to request quotes from SAP Business Network suppliers.

In the Business End Points area of the SAP Business Network buyer account, administrators must create two new endpoints:

  • GBEndPoint
  • S4EndPoint

In the Configure Document Routing area, the correct routing method for quotes must be specified:

  • Request for Quotations: S4EndPoint
  • Quotes: GBEndPoint

Note

All end points (Default, Ariba, S4EndPoint, GBEndPoint) use the same shared secret.

End Point Configuration in the Guided Buying Capability

You configure the guided buying end point so that request for quote (RFQ) documents flow seamlessly to and from guided buying. This endpoint must match the end point configured in your SAP Business Network buyer account. The end point enables guided buying to exchange cXML documents with SAP Business Network. Guided buying sends legacy single-line RFQs and new-style single-line and multiple-line RFQs as cXML documents.

To configure the guided buying end point:

  1. On the guided buying home page, choose Admin.
  2. In the Tactical Sourcing section, select Endpoint configuration.
  3. Enter the name and shared secret password for the endpoint in the Endpoint name and Endpoint password fields.

    Note

These values must match the end point configured in your organization’s SAP Business Network account exactly. Both values are case-sensitive.
  4. Select Submit to save the end point information.
