In the Manage Floor Stocks application of SAP Digital Manufacturing, you can make changes to floor stock records in the following ways:
- Transferring Inventory ID: If you need to move the entire inventory to a new storage location, such as when transferring an order to another assembly line assigned to a different storage location, you can use the CHG-INVENTORY reason code to facilitate this transfer.
- Changing Component Amounts: You have the flexibility to modify the quantity of components in floor stocks. This can be done to correct any errors or to scrap faulty components. To increase the quantity on hand for floor stocks, use the INV_RECEIPT reason code. Conversely, if you need to trigger the scrap of floor stocks, use the SCR-SCRAP reason code.
- Modifying Floor Stock Status: The status of floor stocks can also be changed as needed. By using the CHG_STATUS reason code, you can easily update the status of the floor stocks.
These functionalities in the Manage Floor Stocks application allow you to efficiently manage and update floor stock records in SAP Digital Manufacturing.

Also note that the reason code you select may trigger goods movements in SAP S/4HANA if the inventory ID was created by a goods movement in SAP S/4HANA. For example, when you transfer order-independent floor stock from the production storage location to the central storage location in SAP Digital Manufacturing, the integration posts a goods movement from one storage location to another storage location in SAP S/4HANA.
