Configuring the Solution

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to analyze the different configuration possibilities for SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management

Solution

SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management combines the power of SAP S/4HANA with SAP’s industry cloud technology to automate and improve the clinical supply process. Therefore, configurations can be done in different areas of the SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management solution architecture.

Diagram titled SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management Configuration with a central blue oval labeled the same. Three branches extend from the central oval: one labeled SAP S/4HANA Configurations with a gear icon, another labeled SAP ICSM S/4HANA Customizing with a building icon, and a third labeled SAP ICSM Cloud Configuration with a cloud icon. Each branch signifies a component of the overall configuration.

SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management SAP S/4HANA Customizing

Diagram titled SAP ICSM S/4HANA Customizing showing a Display IMG screen with a focus on the SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management section, which is highlighted in red. The structure under SAP Customizing Implementation Guide includes options such as Master Data, Interfaces, Sales Scheduling Agreements, and Medication Lists. Specific settings include defining number range intervals for medication lists, specifying number range intervals, and other related configurations.

Where do I find this configuration?

This configuration can be found directly in the SAP S/4HANA system and accessed via transaction code SPRO. The respective Customizing root node is named SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management.

What can be configured with this configuration?

Within that Customizing node, most of the process controlling configurations for Deliver and Make can be made. It is also possible to define SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management-relevant objects such as Site Groups and Depots in this configuration. Furthermore, integration configuration (for example, SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) integration) can be made here.

SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management Cloud Configuration

Diagram titled SAP ICSM Cloud Configuration displaying the SAP Configure Workflow Settings interface. The left sidebar lists various categories such as General Settings, Workflow Settings, Demand Categories, Enrollment Curves, Contact Roles, Study Types, Study Phases, Therapeutic Areas, Lead Molecule, Study Statuses, External Identifiers, Monitoring Thresholds, Recalculation Schedules, Data Export, Notifications, and Approval Settings. The main section shows the Configure General Settings page under the System Settings tab, with options to select S/4 API Version and DMS Repository.

Where do I find this configuration?

This configuration can be found in the SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management cloud environment in the SAP BTP app Manage Study Configuration.

What can be configured with this configuration?

This configuration allows the definition of study data (for example, Study Types, Therapeutic Areas, Lead Molecules, and so on). It is also possible to make general configurations, such as setting the SAP S/4HANA API Version or the DMS Repository.

SAP S/4HANA Customizing

Diagram titled SAP S/4HANA Configurations displaying different configuration screens. The first section shows the Display IMG screen with the Logistics - General option highlighted under the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide. The second section displays another Display IMG screen with Logistics Execution highlighted, which includes options like Goods Receipt Automotive, Just-In-Time Processing, and more. The third section shows the Display Class screen with a class type of Batch and a validity date. The final section is the Create Output - Condition Records Stk.Transf.CrteDeliv SPED screen, with the Output Type SPED selected. These images are interconnected with dotted lines to show the configuration flow.

Where do I find this configuration?

This configuration can be found directly in the SAP S/4HANA system and can be accessed via transaction code SPRO as well as via different transaction codes. Due to the cross-module configuration, several Customizing nodes (for example, Logistics-General, Logistics Execution, and Sales and Distribution) and different transaction codes (for example CL02 and VV21) are needed.

What can be configured with this configuration?

These configurations are a prerequisite for some SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management SAP S/4HANA Customizing steps.

Example: For SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management, certain material types are needed. These material types are configured in the Customizing node Logistics-General.
