Integrating with SAP Extended Warehouse Management

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe the integration of SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management with SAP Extended Warehouse Management

Integration of SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management with SAP Extended Warehouse Management

Deploying SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) with SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management is optional.

If you want to use this solution together with SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management, some configurations need to be done in SAP Extended Warehouse Management, as well as in the SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management Customizing.

The subsequent lessons provide you with an overview of the SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management-specific configuration steps.

Diagram illustrating the integration between SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management (ICSM) and SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM). On the left, a rectangle labeled SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management contains a blue box labeled ICSM-Customizing. An arrow points from ICSM-Customizing to two boxes labeled Customize. The Customize boxes both point to a blue rectangle labeled SAP EWM. Above the SAP EWM box, there is another blue box labeled EWM Monitor, connected by an arrow pointing upwards from one of the Customize boxes. The diagram shows the customization flow between ICSM and EWM.

SAP Extended Warehouse Management Configuration

Next to the basic configuration of SAP EWM, the following Customizing has to be done in the EWM Customizing root ndte:

  • Customizing to Use Clinical Trial Features On the RF Device UI
  • Customizing for the EWM Monitor

The first screenshot highlights Assign Presentation Profile to Warehouse under Radio Frequency (RF) Framework. The second screenshot highlights Customize Monitor Tree under Warehouse Management Monitor.

Customizing to Use Clinical Trial Features on the RF Device UI

The following sample logical transactions and steps for the radio frequency (RF) device user interface are provided as part of the solution:

  • Receiving HUs (Receiving Handling Units) by manufacturing order with medication numbers (MRHUMN).
  • Enhanced picking transactions that include steps for picking by medication numbers.
  • Enhanced transaction Manually Repack HU (PAIRPM) for handling the scanning of medication numbers when repacking a partial HU item.
  • Receiving HUs from the depot returns scenario (RTRNGR)

The menu is enhanced within presentation profile **CT and personalization profile **.

The sample RF UI can be processed via the transaction /SCWM/RFUI.

Procedure

  1. In the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide, go to Extended Warehouse Management → Mobile Data Entry → Assign Presentation Profile to Warehouse.
  2. Assign presentation profile **CT to a warehouse in which you want to use the sample UI.

Customizing for the EWM Monitor

The following predefined monitor node profiles are provided with the solution:

  • CTCO0001 Medication Numbers for WHR Item level.
  • CTCO0002 Medication Numbers for Warehouse task.
  • CTCO0003 Medication Numbers for HU Item (Physical Stock) - ATTP-based.
  • CTCO0004 Medication List Serial IDs (PMR specific).

The corresponding nodes can be added to your monitor tree.

As a result, trial-specific information is available in the EWM monitor.

Procedure

  1. In the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide, go to Extended Warehouse Management →  Monitoring  Warehouse Management Monitor → Customize Monitor Tree.
  2. Create nodes for use with SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management using the profiles provided.

SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management Configuration

To integrate SAP Extended Warehouse Management with SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management, there is a Customizing node that contains the three configurations that have to be made in SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management:

  • Map EWM Reference Document Categories
  • Assign Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals Business Functions to EWM Warehouse Tasks
  • Map ERP Stock Type and Medkit Status to EWM Stock Categories

The highlighted options under EWM Integration include Map EWM Reference Document Categories, Assign ATTP Business Functions to EWM Warehouse Tasks, and Map ERP Stock Type and Medkit Status to EWM Stock Cat.

Note

An example configuration can be found in the solution configuration guide: SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management.

Map EWM Reference Document Categories

Description

You use this procedure to establish a mapping between intelligent clinical supply management MedKit document type and EWM reference document category.

Mapping is used in the outbound/inbound delivery replication process from SAP S/4HANA to SAP EWM for determination of MedKits to be assigned to the EWM warehouse request.

Settings priority:

  1. Full match of warehouse number, document category, document type
  2. Records for all document types: warehouse number is specified, document category is specified, document type is blank
  3. Records for all warehouse numbers: warehouse numbers is blank, document category is specified, document type is specified
  4. Default records for document category: warehouse number is blank, document category is specified, document type is blank

Requirements:

Outbound delivery order and inbound delivery are supported by default for all warehouses and document types

Procedure

  1. In the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide, go to Master Data → EWM Integration → Map EWM Reference Document Categories.
  2. Establish the mapping between the ICSM MedKit document types and EWM reference document categories.

Assign ATTP Business Functions to EWM Warehouse Tasks

Description

You use this procedure to map ATTP business functions to EWM warehouse tasks.

Settings priority:

  1. Full match: warehouse number, activity, and process type
  2. Records for process types: warehouse number is specified, activity is specified, process type is blank
  3. Records for warehouse numbers: activity is specified, process type is specified, warehouse number is blank
  4. Default records for activity: warehouse number is blank, activity is specified, process type is blank

Requirements:

ATTP is supported in the SAP EWM system.

Standard settings:

Table is standard and assigns EWM activities to ATTP business functions.

Procedure

  1. In the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide, go to Master Data → EWM Integration → Assign ATTP Business Functions to EWM Warehouse Tasks.
  2. Establish the mapping between ATTP business functions and EWM warehouse tasks.

Map ERP Stock Type and Medkit Status to EWM Stock Categories

Description

You use this procedure to map ERP stock types and movement reasons to EWM stock categories.

Activities:

Create entries for each combination of ERP stock type and movement reason with an EWM stock category and medication kit status.

Enter an availability group to customize a storage location.

Procedure

  1. In the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide, go to Master Data → EWM Integration → Map ERP Stock Type and Medkit Status to EWM Stock Cat.
  2. Establish the mapping between ERP stock types and movement reasons to EWM stock categories.
