Creating and Scheduling a Multiple Counter Plan

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create a multiple counter plan

Multiple Counter Plan

To plan and carry out maintenance measures for this, you can use a multiple counter plan in which the two characteristics operating hours and liters/flow in liters are linked. For example, maintenance after 5,000 operating hours or 50,000 pumped liters.

Multiple Counter Plan Scheduling Functions

Diagram depicts scheduling functions current counter readings.

The multiple counter plan recognizes the following scheduling parameters:

  • Cycle modification factor:

The cycle modification factor can lengthen or shorten the maintenance cycle in the multiple counter plan.

  • Preliminary buffer:

Defines the call date for the maintenance order in relation to the calculated planned date and thereby also the basic start date.

    It's specified in days.

  • Operation type:

Determines the type of link for the maintenance cycles. If the AND link is used, the order is only created when all the cycles are due. For an OR link, the order is created as soon as one of the cycles is due.

  • Start date/start time:

Defines the start date for automatic starting of the maintenance plan using deadline monitoring.

  • Scheduling period:

Defines the period for which the system calculates in advance planned dates/calls, which can then be displayed in a scheduling overview.

  • Completion requirement:

Defines that the current call object must be completed before a new one is generated.

  • Shift factors:

Define the percentage of the shift to be applied to the calculation of the next date.

  • Tolerances for shift factors:

Determine the time span in which positive/negative variances between actual and planned date don't influence subsequent scheduling.

Multiple Counter Plan and Time Zones

When you process or display maintenance plans of type Multiple Counter in the Manage Maintenance Plansapp (F5325), you can view the scheduling start date and time in your local user time zone. The system converts the system time zone into the time zone of the current user as set in the SAP Fiori Launchpad and the browser.

Multiple Counter Plan Start Date

Process Flow for Accurate Scheduling

  1. Generate the order.

  2. Close the order.

  3. Enter the measurement document when the order is closed (or enter measurement documents at regular intervals).

  4. Reschedule the maintenance plan.

In contrast to the performance-based strategy plan, when you schedule the multiple counter plan, no high numbers of cycles occur for determining the new planned date. Instead, scheduling is always calculated from the current counter readings.
