Output Control

SAP S/4HANA output control is the central entry point in SAP S/4HANA to output functions such as printing, sending e-mails, or maintaining form templates for the output. It is the key element of SAP S/4HANA output management, which is the framework for all functions and processes related to the output of documents in SAP S/4HANA. SAP S/4HANA output control structures output management and makes it reusable across all business functions that have adopted it.

Supported Channels: Print, Email, EDI, XML, IDoc

Supported UI Technologies: SAP Fiori, SAP GUI, SAP GUI for HTML

Supported Form Technologies: PDF-based print forms, Smart Forms, SAPScript

Work Packs in SAP S/4HANA Asset Management are used for the output of maintenance orders and support SAP S/4HANA output control. To be able to use work packs the following parameters need to be defined in Customizing (IMG):

• Define Work Pack Types

• Define / Assign Grouping Criteria

• Maintain Number Range

You can print or email shop papers for one or more maintenance orders or order operations based on specific configuration settings in a single step. The system creates a work pack based on predefined settings and automatically sends the work pack to the configured output channels.

In the Find Maintenance Orders app and the Find Maintenance Orders and Operations app you can select one or more maintenance orders or one or more order operations. If you choose Print, the system creates a work pack with a predefined work pack type and predefined grouping criteria and automatically sends the work pack to the configured output channels. The entire process is performed in a background job.

You can automatically attach or merge documents of particular document types. This option is available for the following objects:

• Maintenance Notification
• Maintenance Order
• Maintenance Job Pack
