Service and maintenance task lists can be used with engineering change management. Different versions of task lists can be saved with different change masters. Change masters are particularly useful if a certain combination of maintenance packages is only valid for a limited period. In this case, the change master represents a version of a task list with a specific validity date. If a task list with a change master is used in a maintenance plan, during maintenance plan schedule and the validity date of the change master is checked against the plan date. If a maintenance package is no longer valid, or not yet valid, with regard to a plan date, it's deactivated for this plan date.
