If an SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite customer is using an external Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to store and manage employee data, it can be integrated with SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding. However, it is limited to the onboarding of new hires. The integration does not currently support internal hire process (crossboarding) and offboarding.
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central plays an important role in integrations because it builds the new hire’s profile in Onboarding. This means that the external HRIS needs to be connected with Employee Central. This is possible even if the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite instance does not have Employee Central implemented because it is turned on for Onboarding (via Miniature EC).
For this integration to work, you need to be familiar with the following software, features, and processes:
- Employee Central
- Middleware or APIs that will be used
- Setup of the external HRIS used
