Scheduling Sync Jobs

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to schedule required jobs in Provisioning for SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Configure Day One Conversion Job in Provisioning

New hires can access the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite before their start date as external users with limited access. But on their first day of work, they must be converted to a new hire.

Business Example

In this exercise, you configure the SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding Day One Conversion Job for the organization. This Provisioning job converts the external onboarding user (new hire) to an employee in the HRIS or SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.

Steps

  1. Log in to SAP SuccessFactors Provisioning.

  2. Choose your Company Name.

  3. Navigate to Managing Job SchedulerManage Scheduled Jobs.

  4. Choose Create New Job.

  5. In the View Scheduled Job screen, complete the following fields:

    Field NameValue
    Job NameInsert ConvertExternalUserOnStartDateJob
    OwnerInsert Emily Clark

Select Emily Clark (admin) from dropdown. Note that you can also use username admin to search for Emily Clark.

    Job TypeInsert ConvertExternalUserOnStartDateJob
Job ParametersChoose 8 for Business Start Hour
OccurrenceSelect RecurringDaily and then select 0 (12AM) from the list box.
  6. Choose Create Job.

  7. Under Manage Scheduled Jobs, locate the new job.

  8. From the Actions dropdown list, select Submit

If you encounter an error when you try to submit the job, it could be an issue with the scheduled Start Date of running the job. Go back to the settings of the job and identify a future time on the Start Date of the recurring schedule (at least 5 minutes after the current time).

  9. Return to the Actions dropdown list and choose Run It Now.

Three Provisioning jobs used for the SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding module have been decoupled from the BizX Daily Rules Processing Batch job. This provides customers and consultants with the ability to monitor and run these jobs independently. The following table lists the decoupled Provisioning jobs, what they do, and what job type to select.
