PCC Tools
Watch the video - it introduces specific tools that support the payroll process to run smoothly.
What is an Audit Trail?
An audit trail is a step by step look at what exactly happened with PCC. A PCC analyst performs an audit trail and checks all activities.

PCC Analyst/Auditor and the Audit Trail
Let’s start by looking at the tasks for the PCC Analyst/Auditor. Recall from an earlier unit that the PCC Analyst checks all processes. They have a detailed picture of the payroll process, from users and timing of when activities are executed. This user must have access to the payroll process in display mode to check process execution steps. Only certain employees can have access to sensitive payroll information. For technical specialist, it is one of many applications but for customers, it is an important and sensitive part of the solution.
Process History Tab
The Process History tab is where the PCC Analyst can filter the steps by date/processor/different criteria. Here, the PCC Analyst can view the following:
- Process history
- Which steps were started automatically
- Which steps were manually confirmed
- Which steps were reset
- Date and time stamps
- Filter by Activity, Processor, Date, or Status

Within the Process History tab, the PCC Analyst can download the process history excel file, if needed.

Alert History Tab
The next tab shows the alerts handling (which payroll/HR admin handled which alert, what exactly they did, and the history of the status correction). This provides a full picture of how alerts were handled. If needed, there is an option for the PCC Analyst to download the information.
Here, the PCC Analyst can view the following:
- An alert processing history
- Which alerts were manually assigned
- Which alerts were claimed via admins
- Date and time stamps
Which alerts were automatically resolved via an event listener

Analytics History Tab
The last tab is for analytics which shows KPIs, drill-downs, and other historical activity. If needed, there is an option for the PCC Analyst to download the information.

Audit Trail Download
There are two options to get to the audit trail: front end or back end. Both options allow you to download the audit trail to a file. For both options, you have to provide some prerequisite information.
Maintain Logical File Paths
If you want to download the audit trail for multiple processes, you need to define a logical file path PCC_AL_ALH PCC Audit Trail - Audit Trail Download Directory.
Required Authorization for audit trail.
To download the audit trail for specific process instances, the PCC Analyst/Auditor must have the relevant authorization in the authorization object P_PYD_INST.
P_PYD_INST: Authorization prefix of payroll processes, followed by an asterisk *. For example, PY10*, PY99*. An authorization prefix is defined when process types or payroll processes are created: P_PYD_IAUT – H (Display Action Log), R (Read).
