Describing the Growth Portfolio

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe Growth Portfolio.

Growth Portfolio

The Growth Portfolio is part of the Talent Intelligence Hub centralized framework. It works as a unique repository where employees can store their role-specific (cascaded based on the employee's role) and person-specific attributes. Attributes in a portfolio can dynamically change based on a person's preference and aspirations.

People in the organization can access attributes from the Attributes Library to add the required attributes to their portfolio. The Attributes Library enables people to shape and refine a digital picture continuously of their whole self, to evaluate who they're today, and to decide what they want to be in future.

Growth Portfolio uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms to recommend suitable skills for employees. It can also be integrated with SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace to enable people find relevant opportunities matching their work preferences and work styles.

Growth Portfolio can be accessed from the Home Page Quick Actions or the Home menu.

SAP SuccessFactors home screen features Quick Actions, highlighting View My Growth Portfolio.

Enablement of Growth Portfolio

An administer enables the Growth Portfolio from Manage Talent Intelligence Hub SettingsPortfolio Settings. Once it's enabled, permissions can be granted for users in the latest Role-Based Permission framework.

Portfolio Settings tab is displayed. Select Enable Growth Portfolio after completing the steps.

There are some steps that need to be verified and completed before turning on Growth Portfolio:

  • Review the Proficiency Level Scale from the Proficiency Settings tab. The number of proficiency levels in a Proficiency Level Scale can't be modified once Growth Portfolio is enabled.
  • Review the associations between Attribute Types (Competency, Skill, and so on) and proficiency level scales.
  • Review the performance forms from the Rating History tab to ensure the correct rating history (None, Performance, or Proficiency) is set for forms.

Growth Portfolio as an End User

Users can access the Growth Portfolio as a central repository of attributes and ratings that reflect the whole self. They can add attributes based on recommendations, explore development opportunities in Opportunity Marketplace, highlight their most relevant attributes, display the historical ratings, and so on. Some of the whole self data captured in the Growth Portfolio responds to the different employees' concerns:

  • Aspirations: Where do I want to go?
  • Preferences: How do I want to get there?
  • Strengths and styles: How do I tick?
  • Skills and capabilities: What do I know? What can I do?

The following example shows the end user view including the different sections displayed in the Growth Portfolio.
