Explaining the Prerequisites, Dependencies, and Permissions

After completing this lesson, you will be able to understand the prerequisites to use Opportunity Marketplace.

Prerequisites, Enablement and Permissions in Opportunity Marketplace

The prerequisites to enable Opportunity Marketplace are the following:

  • Opportunity Marketplace license or SAP SuccessFactors Career and Talent Development bundle.
  • Job Profile Builder or Talent Intelligence Hub enabled (or both).

Opportunity Marketplace can only be enabled from Provisioning currently. From ProvisioningCompany Settings, enable the option Enable Opportunity Marketplace (separate license required).

The Enable Opportunity Marketplace (separate license required) checkbox is highlighted.

Scroll up and select the Save Feature button. Enter the Company ID and select Confirm.

Once the feature is enabled, you can grant the following permissions in Role-Based Permission for administrators.

Navigate to Manage Permission Rolesselect Admin roleAdministrator PermissionsManage Opportunity Marketplace. The permissions under this category are:

  • Manage Opportunity Marketplace Configuration. From this tool, administrators can turn on/off types of opportunities to be recommended in Opportunity Marketplace, such as Open Jobs, Learning or Job Roles.
  • Configure Assignments. To manage assignment types, configure general settings and add define custom fields that can be used for assignments in Opportunity Marketplace.
  • Manage Intelligent Recommendations in Opportunity Marketplace. Enable recommendations powered by machine learning algorithms. There are some data requirements that will be discussed later.
  • Mass Create Assignments. Allows to create multiple assignments and import applications to these assignments (optional) at once using a CSV file.
  • Manage Assignments. Access the tool to search for assignments and take actions upon them as an administrator.
The following permissions are granted to an administrator to Manage OMP

The permissions for end users, are the following:

  • Opportunity Marketplace Access. Grants general access to Opportunity Marketplace.
  • View Assignments. Access to view assignments. It can be restricted based on the assignment type (Fellowships, Internship, Project, etc).
  • Create Assignments. Access to create assignments, typically granted to team managers or other leadership roles. It can be restricted based on assignment type.
  • View all assignment details in approval workflow. If the assignment creation requires an approval workflow, all the details about the assignment can be made visible to the approvers.
