User Acceptance Testing: Iteration 1

There are several steps to complete in a user acceptance test.

After you have completed the build for Iteration 1, meet with the customer and demo the stage site to them. Walk the customer through how to complete Customer Stage Site Testing, utilizing the Recruiting Marketing/Career Site Builder workbook.

Note

Remind the customer that the purpose of this phase is to confirm that the site was built to the agreed-upon specifications.

After the meeting, send the customer the workbook. Direct the customer to note where there are issues: where the site has not been set up according to the requirements in the workbook, or based on expectations, where things can change.

Direct the customer to enter an "X" in the IT1 column if changes are made, and highlight the cells that were updated. Optionally, they can add a comment. If there are multiple changes during one iteration, use comments.

Example of Iteration Updates in the Workbook.

Iteration 1 Completion

  • Iteration 1 must be finalized before the building of Iteration 2 can begin.
  • Review the workbook and testing findings from Iteration 1 with the customer.
  • Complete the issue revisions and any Iteration 1 changes to the site.
  • If there are pages which were not completed (such as additional category or content pages, branded pages, and so on) as part of Iteration 1, complete those pages.
  • Ensure that the site setup is complete, such as Real Time Job Sync, Recruiter SSO, Mobile Apply, branding, and so on.

Iteration 2

After you have completed the build for Iteration 2, send the workbook to the customer.

Demo the Iteration 2 changes, if that would be helpful. Remind the customer how to complete the Customer Stage Site Testing, utilizing the IT2 column in the workbook and highlighting cells that were updated. Also remind them that the purpose of this phase is to confirm that the site was built to the agreed-upon specifications.

Iteration 2 testing should include the testing of all pages, brands, locales, and integrations. Any issues that need to be resolved should be completed in Iteration 2 and signed off during Iteration 3/Final testing.

Note

The customer may want to set up their own integration testing scripts; these are not provided in the workbook. Integration testing such as setting up full requisitions, posting them externally, testing the job sync, rules for category pages, and candidate apply.

Iteration 3

The site should be built to completion with Iteration 3. This final Iteration is for any issue resolution and last pieces that need to be completed for final testing and sign off.

  • After you have completed the final issue resolution and Iteration 3 build, send the workbook to the customer.
  • Demo the Iteration 3 changes, if that would be helpful. Have the customer complete final integration testing and confirm that the Career Site Builder site has been built to the specifications noted in the workbook, and that all integrations are working as intended.
  • After all stage site changes have been completed, get final written approval from the customer to move to production.
