Mocking Up New Sources and Campaigns

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to mock up new sources and campaigns

Advanced Analytics Demo Environment

At this time, there isn't any data that can be pre-loaded into Recruiting Advanced Analytics, but you can mock up data in your test environment. You need to complete the status mapping in your test instance, so that the mocked-up data populates in Advanced Analytics.

Source Engine Examples

Notice the Source Engines registered for the candidates in this stage instance.

The list of Source Engines is displayed on the table.

Source Engine examples include the following:

  • In this environment, most of the visits are listed as "Direct," which means that the candidate did not navigate to the job from another online resource or website. The test candidates applied directly from the stage instance Career Site Builder (CSB) site.

  • "Career Site" traffic includes links that point to an Career Site Builder landing page from the customer’s corporate site or from a career site that the customer hosts.
  • "Jobs2Web" source is generated during testing, when the site is accessed from a jobs2web domain, such as Command Center.
  • "RCM Invite to Apply" is generated when a candidate begins their application after receiving an invite to apply email.
  • "RCM Redirect" is primarily captured when a candidate was sent to the ATS URL first, and was redirected back to the CSB job URL. The proper process is to send candidates to CSB job URLs.

The other sources shown here were mocked-up for demo purposes. See the instructions in the next section.

For definitions of common sources, refer to the "Key Source Type Definitions" table in HR832, the Recruiting Candidate Experience Administrator Training Guide. Download HR832 from Learning Content in the SAP Learning Hub or from this link.

Mockup of New Sources and Campaigns in Advanced Analytics

You need to decide on two or three elements before beginning an application as a test candidate:

  • The pages on a CSB career site that "a candidate has linked to" (mocked-up). This is usually a job page, but could be a category, the home page, or even a search results page.
  • From which online source the candidate "found" the link to the CSB site. (See the figure, Mock-up: Source Engine, for examples.)Source Engine mock-up with the following elements highlighted: 51 job, CareerBuilder, Email signature, FaceBook, Google, Sourcing LinkedIn.
  • Optionally, add a campaign tag for reporting. (See the figure, Mock-up: Campaign Tag, for examples.)

Generate Tracking Links with Source Tracker

The easiest way to generate tracking links is to use the Source Tracker.

Steps

  1. Capture the URL for a Career Site Builder page that "a candidate will be linked to" (mocked-up). To do this, from CSB, generate a preview of the site that you created in your Salesdemo instance. Copy the URL for the page.

  2. Navigate to RecruitingSource TrackerCampaign URL Builder.

  3. On the Campaign URL Builder form, paste the page URL that you copied into the URL field.

  4. From the Type and Source fields, select the online source where "the recruiter will post the link and the candidate will find it" (all mocked-up). For example, you could select Social Network and Twitter. (Note that If these fields are not populated in your stage environment, enable some sources from Career Site BuilderToolsSite Source Editor.)

  5. In the Campaign Name field, enter a campaign you’ve decided on, such as remote. (Remember to keep a list of the campaigns you use, or you can generate a report on a campaign tag later in Advanced Analytics to remind yourself of the campaigns you’ve mocked-up.)

  6. Notice the tracking that has been added to the end of the Campaign URL field. Select the Copy URL button to the right.

Create a Mock-Up for Candidate Data for Advanced Analytics Reporting

To create a mock-up, proceed as follows:

Steps

  1. Open a unique browser session and paste in the Campaign URL. This populates the Visits column in Advanced Analytics. (See step 5.)

  2. To populate additional columns, have some of your test candidates create an account and apply.

  3. From the Candidate Workbench in SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting, act as a recruiting user and move some candidates through the Talent Pipeline. You can even move a candidate directly to the Hired status, which will populate each of the intermediate statuses in Advanced Analytics: Qualified, Interviews, and Offers. Also disqualify some candidates.

  4. Before re-starting the process to mock-up another apply, close the browser tab and open a fresh one. Otherwise, the Source will be reported as "RCM Redirect" in your Advanced Analytics reporting.

  5. After one-to-two days, view the results of your mocked-up data in Advanced Analytics.

In this mocked-up stage instance, the first three sources have had "visitors" to their Career Site Builder site (see step 2). The CareerBuilder in the Source Engine column got five visits, two candidates created an account, and one candidate completed an application. That candidate was moved to Hired.

Build a Candidate History

Note

This procedure is optional.

A more complete demo includes "the candidate journey", where a candidate applies for multiple jobs and is dispositioned differently for each job by recruiting users. To demonstrate this, build a history for selected candidates.

Steps

  1. Have a candidate "apply".

  2. Use a different mocked-up URL to apply to another job using the login credentials of the same candidate. (You may want to do this at a later date, to show candidate application activity over time.)

  3. Continue applying for additional jobs using mocked-up URLs as the same candidate.

  4. Acting as a recruiting user from the Candidate Workbench, move the candidate to different statuses on the Talent Pipeline for each job they applied to.

Here's an example: For a particular candidate, for the first job they apply to, move them to Phone Interview, and then move them to a disqualified status. For another job, move them through the statuses culminating with Offer Declined. Finally, for another job, move them to Hired.

Result

A candidate history has been built.
