Release Information

SAP SuccessFactors releases two software updates per year, in May and November. The release updates are referenced with the number of the Half and the Year. For example, the May 2023 release is referenced as the 1H 2023 Release.

The What’s New Viewer (WNV), available in the SAP Help Portal, is the placeholder for the release enhancements in SAP SuccessFactors. It can be reviewed online or exported as a .pdf or .csv file. There are several filtering options, such as module, type, or lifecycle, to review only those enhancements that are relevant for your SAP SuccessFactors system. Data Protection and Privacy Features

Data Protection and Privacy is an important feature integrated into software across the SAP suite. Succession Management involves the manipulation and storage of sensitive user information that must adhere to applicable data privacy laws. Consultants should familiarize themselves with the relevant Data Retention Management (DRTM) documentation that can be found at help.sap.com.

Data protection and privacy features include, for instance, the ability to report on personal data changes and the capacity to report on all personal data available in the application. Customers also have options to configure data retention rules at the country/region level for active and inactive employees that permanently purge personal data from SAP SuccessFactors applications.

It is the customer’s responsibility to adopt the features that they deem appropriate.
