Provisioning and Permissioning the Matrix Grid Reports

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  • Enable the Matrix Grid Reports
  • Set permissions for the Matrix Grid Reports

Enabling the Matrix Grid Reports

To use the performance-potential and how vs. what matrix grid reports, the corresponding settings must be enabled in Provisioning:

  1. Matrix Grid Report (9-Box): This setting activates the underlying feature for the performance and potential matrix grid report. If you don't need a performance and potential report, you can always configure it to use different ratings and rename it.
  2. Matrix Grid How Vs. What Report (9-Box): This setting activates the underlying feature for the how vs. what matrix grid report.
Select the Matrix Grid Report Provisioning Settings.

Note

If this is your first time turning on any Matrix Grid Report, you may have other settings that must be enabled for the report to work properly. You also must have proper permissions, Admin Center settings, and People Profile portlet data stored to generate the report.

Permissioning the Matrix Grid Reports

To allow users to use the Matrix Grid Reports, the following Succession Planner permissions must be granted under Manage Permission Roles:

  • Succession Management and Matrix Report Permissions: The target population associated to this permission controls the employee population that is visible to a given user in the Matrix Grid Reports (this permission also grants visibility to successors and icons in the Succession Org Chart).
  • Matrix Report Permission: Allows users to access both Matrix Grid Reports (if both Matrix Reports are enabled). It's currently not possible to grant permissions to only one of the Matrix Grid Reports, but not to the other.
Choose the Matrix Grid Report Permissions.
