Importing/Exporting Balance Validation Rules and Groups

Previously, Max learned that one possible way to manage groups and rules was by using a spreadsheet to export and import validation rule and group data. Max decides that this will be helpful when moving data from a test system into a production system. Max gets a Business Configuration Expert to assist him with this process.

After creating Balance Validation rules and testing them, they can be exported from the test system to the production system using the following steps.

1. Open the Manage Balance Validation Rules and Groups Fiori app on your test system. This system stores your rule groups and rules.
2. Navigate to the 'Groups' tab from within the app.
3. Choose the rule groups you want to export.
4. After selecting the groups, locate and click on 'Export Table", and then click 'Export'.
5. The system will now export your chosen groups and any rules that are assigned to them.

1. From within the 'Manage Balance Validation Rules and Groups Fiori' app, navigate to the 'Rules' tab.
2. Select the specific rules you want to export.
3. After selecting the rules, choose 'Export'. This will only export the specified rules.

If any groups or rules fail during the import, the reasons can be found in the Check Message column. After correcting any errors, they can be imported again.

1. In the Manage Balance Validation Rules and Groups Fiori app, choose Export Table dropdown, then choose Import.
2. On the Import/Export Validation Settings page that appears, you see the uploaded groups and rules on one of the following tabs:
   1. New for Import – The uploaded groups or rules don’t exist in the target system and are ready for import.
   2. Duplicated – The uploaded groups or rules have IDs identical to the existing ones. You need to compare the duplicates and decide if you want to skip the uploaded ones or to import them. The existing ones will be overwritten.
3. Select the groups and rules you want to import and choose Import.

• The Manage Balance Validation Rules and Groups Fiori app is used to export or import validation rule and group data from the test to the production system.
• If groups or rules fail during imports, you can find the reasons in the Check Message column.
