In this section, we will cover the derivation of Consolidation Unit DE00 in Group Reporting.
In our S/4HANA Financials system, we have an active preparation ledger assigned to our consolidation version A00. This means that during an accounting posting, we can flexibly derive consolidation units, companies, consolidation chart of accounts, and financial statement items. When we run the Data Release task in SAP S/4HANA Finance for group reporting, data from one company (1010) may end up in different consolidation units, representing specific data slices, such as the profit center, of the company.
The consolidation unit derived during the accounting posting is defined by acustomer-defined substitution rule, which is shown in the figure below.

In our S/4HANA Financials system, the preparation ledger is active and assigned to our consolidation version A00.
This means that consolidation units, companies, the consolidation chart of accounts, and financial statement items can flexibly be derived during an accounting posting.
This makes it also possible that when the Data Release task is executed in SAP S/4HANA Finance for group reporting, data from one company (1010) may now end up in different consolidation units, representing certain data slices (for example profit center) of the company.
