.XLSX File Template for Data Upload

The data upload of non-integrated companies, as well as the correction of the released data of integrated company 1010, will be executed with the help of the Data Collection task of the Data Monitor by using an upload file.

You can find an .XLSX template file for data uploads in the attachment of SAP Note 2659672.

This image shows the important SAP Note 2659672 which contains as an attachment the Template File for Data Uploads.

The figure below shows the structure of this file.

.XLSX File Template for Data Upload 2/2

This figure shows the Template File for Data Uploads.

Let's have a further look at the Parameters in the template file:

1. PERIODICAL

  • If you enter x, the file data will be interpreted as period data. The data will be written to the period specified in the file without any additional calculation.
  • If you leave it blank, the file data will be interpreted as cumulative (year-to-date) data. The system subtracts the cumulative data from the previous year, calculates the periodic data, and then stores the cumulative data for the specified period.

2. UPDATEMODE

  • Enter 1 to Delete all Financial Statement (FS) items and all sub assignments: The deletion replaces any existing data that was uploaded using the same combination of version, period, consolidation unit, and document type. The system does not delete any data physically in the system. Instead, it calculates a delta between the new data and any data uploaded previously and then creates new records for the delta data.
  • Enter 2 to overwrite: Only the uploaded records are notated. Any existing records that share the same item and all of the same sub-assignments are overwritten.

3. NSEP (Number Format)

  • Enter 1 for the number format 1,000.00.
  • Enter 2 for number format 1.000,00.
  • The thousand separator is optional in both cases.

4. DOCTY

You can use different document types to distinguish source systems.

Converting a .XLSX File with Tabs to a .TXT File with Semicolons

Now, let's learn how to convert a .XLSX file with tabs into a .TXT file with semicolons. In the following video, we will cover:

  • Converting the .XLSX File to a .TXT file for non-integrated Consolidation Unit CAN00
  • Converting Tab Separators to Semicolon Separators in .TXT files for Consolidation Unit CAN00.

Select the play button on the video to learn about Converting a .XLSX file with tabs into a .TXT file with semicolons

Video Summary:

The demo provides instructions on how to convert a . XLSX file to a . TXT file for a non-integrated consolidation unit, specifically the CAN00 unit. The process involves:

  • Using an XLSX template to maintain data in the upload file
  • Saving it as a TXT file
  • Executing the data upload with this file

The video then explains converting tab separators to semicolon separators in the TXT file. If the upload method selected in the consolidation unit master data is SRD2, which is the case for all consolidation units in this scenario, tabs must be replaced with semicolons. To do this, remove all tabs from the TXT file. Select "File" and then "Replace," navigate to the "From -> To" dialogue box, highlight a tab as the "From" value, enter a semicolon as the "To" value, and select "Replace All." This will replace all tabs with semicolons in the TXT file.
