SAP Analytics Cloud, Add-In for Microsoft Excel Preferences

Workbook Preferences

You find the Workbook Preferences in the Design group in the ribbon.

Workbook Preferences dialog with three options described above.

In the Workbook Preferences dialog, you can define the following settings:

  1. Workbook Refresh: When you open a workbook with data, the tables show the last saved state. You can use this setting to specify whether a workbook should be refreshed automatically when signing in.
  2. Restore Corrupted Workbook Objects: Each object you create with the add-in is linked to a named range in Excel. The add-in objects can only run properly if the named ranges are not edited (by changing the name in the Excel name manager) or deleted (for example, if a sheet containing an object is deleted while being offline).

When signing in, the add-in checks the current status and can show the corrupted objects in the Missing Named Range panel. In this panel, you can decide for each corrupted object if you want to restore or delete it. You can use this setting to define whether the panel should be shown after signing in. The default setting is that the panel is not shown. You can enable it at any time and check if there are corrupted objects in your workbook.

  3. Workbook Permissions: Depending on the assigned permissions, a user can either update or view workbooks. You can choose between the default of Use SAP Analytics Cloud permissions (the add-in validates the SAP Analytics Cloud permissions assigned to the user, see below) or All users have designer rights.

The Add-in Workbook permission has been recently introduced to SAP Analytics Cloud. This permission must be adjusted by the SAP Analytics Cloud administrator to define whether a user has access to the full set of add-in features (Designer) or limited options to change report layouts (Viewer).

Additional Information

Additional information can be found in the SAP Help Portal Permissions for the add-in.
