In this video, we will explore the process of creating live data connections to a cloud application. Remember, these connections do not need SAP BTP cloud connector, SAP Analytics Cloud agent, or CORS installed and configured. These connections will access data stored in cloud applications, such as SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Datasphere, and SAP HANA Cloud. With live data connections, data is not copied from the cloud application. All data remains on the cloud application and is not stored in  SAP Analytics Cloud at any point. SAP Analytics Cloud live data connections are natural cloud-to-cloud connections using OAuth 2.0 protocol. With OAuth 2.0 protocol, you do not need to configure  SAP Analytics Cloud to use the same SAML IdP as you use in the cloud application. However, as a prerequisite, SAML single Sign-On must be enabled in SAP Analytics Cloud by the administrator. A user must be created in both systems using a SAML IdP and specific roles assigned. In this video, let's use SAP S/4HANA Cloud as an example of the process. In SAP Analytics Cloud, the administrator creates the user and assigns it the BI admin role. The SAP S/4HANA Cloud administrator creates the user in the cloud application and assigns it the SAP_BR_ADMINISTRATOR role. The roles and permissions assigned in the cloud application depend on the system. SAP Analytics Cloud is used as an analytical client that consumes data using SAP S/4HANA Cloud analytical queries, called CDS views. The SAP Analytics Cloud administrator creates live data connections based on existing SAP S/4HANA Cloud CDS views. This process can be divided into three main steps. Step 1. The SAP S/4HANA Cloud administrator sets up a new SAP S/4HANA Cloud communication system. This new entry is a technical connector from SAP S4/HANA Cloud to the SAP Analytics Cloud tenant. Step 2. The SAP S/4HANA Cloud administrator sets up a new communication arrangement. This new entry helps to configure the electronic data exchange between SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud. Step 3. The SAP Analytics Cloud administrator sets up a live data connection in SAP Analytics Cloud and downloads the Signing Certificate. The SAP S/4HANA Cloud administrator uploads it to the communication system to create the trusted connection. Once complete, it is possible for data modelers to work with the data from SAP S4/HANA Cloud by creating new live models in SAP Analytics Cloud.
